New auto detailing equipment alert:
Sadly our Ridgid Shop vac after 6 years has gone out recently, it went out at a job Wednesday evening (luckily we were already done with the customer vehicle), it served us well for the last 6 years, at least 1,000 vehicles/jobs, about 20 air duct cleaning jobs, and about 50 air filters, and much more!

While we will make some good use of the Shop Vac that we’ve picked up from a discount store, it’ll get us by until we have the right time to grab another Ridgid Shop Vacuum. We are ready and excited for tomorrow. See you tomorrow Williamson County!

This morning, we changed out the radio of this 2008 Honda Fit Hatchback. Stock radio was completely dead and not working. We threw in this used Dual Electronics XDM16BT Bluetooth car radio, this unit was actually in another customer car previously, so we already knew that it works perfectly well no problems. We transferred the clips, AC/heater controls, and Airbag modules over to the new dash kit, added the pocket and placed the radio back in place. Used the antenna adapter and wiring adapter with no need for hacking the stock radio wiring. Wrapped up the wiring with tape and zip ties for a professional, clean look. all 4 speakers work perfectly well so no need to replace anytime soon. The original aux input located next to the power outlet will never be used again.

Upon removal of the stock stereo. We tested all electronics and then re-tested them all after installation and all seemed good. We also tested the ac system since it had to be removed from the car for installation and it functioned well the same as before, nice and cold.

For these cars you have the option to install a 2 or 4 inch full size double sized radio. Customer chose this dual radio to get by with some music since the stock stereo had not worked since the purchase of the vehicle. This will serve the client well until they are ready to call us again for a better upgrade. For now, they’ve went with this radio unit.

Update #2 as of 7:20pm 7/19/2026: installation date for Monday morning 7/20/2026, has been confirmed, the dash kit has arrived to us on Saturday afternoon 7/18. And we now have everything we need for this installation. We will post the completed work tomorrow after it is all set and done. Have a good evening!

Update 7/17/2026 10:20am: this job that was originally scheduled for Saturday July 18th, 2026, has been delayed and will not take place tomorrow, the dash kit has not arrived yet and it will arrive to us a little later than the expected delivery date. A new installation date will be announced at a later time.

Original Post 3:30pm Tuesday July 14th, 2026:
This Saturday 7/18, We will be replacing the broken stock stereo of a 2008 Honda Fit hatchback with this Dual Electronics XDM16BT Bluetooth car radio. This dual radio was previously in another customer car and worked well when it got taken out of that car a couple months ago. We have the wiring adapter and the antenna cable adapter for this car.

We are currently waiting for the radio dash base kit to come in the mail to us, we hope it comes in by Saturday the 18th, (USPS estimate delivery date said Thursday 7-16 or Friday 7/17). We ordered the part Monday morning 7/13. As always we will post the job when completed. For these cars you have the option to install a standard 2 inch or 4 inch touchscreen radio. This customer opted for this dual radio just because they just wanted music back and the stock stereo has been broken since the purchase of the car. Stay tuned for updates!

2008 Toyota Corolla - Install Updates:
This used JVC KD-R950BT bluetooth radio will be installed in the 2008 car over the next few days once the customer has this vehicle available for us.

It will be replacing a broken 10+ year old Sony touchscreen car radio that goes straight to a black screen as soon as you start the vehicle. We’ve also already inspected the vehicle a couple months ago and we’ve determined that the 10 year old Sony radio is deemed faulty. It also has a aftermarket radio adapter so it’ll be reused with the used JVC radio. We did a 2005 Corolla a couple weeks ago, same vehicle as this one so we’ll know exactly how to do this radio install, it’ll be the same procedure as the 2005 car we did 2 weeks ago. It will use the same base dash kit and wiring adapters. We will keep you updated. The JVC radio has been tested and it is ready for the 2008 Corolla, it also came with a OEM unused wiring harness

Update: the installation job that was supposed to take place on June 17th-20th has been postponed due to a mechanical issue this car is currently facing, a new installation date will be updated when the car is available for us.

2008 Toyota Corolla - Radio Install Update. Currently as of 6/6/26:

We have ordered a second, used JVC Bluetooth car radio for this 2008 car, now that the installation of the 2005 car has been completed last week and marked off the list. Over the next week or so when the second unit arrives, it’ll be tested and will be ready for install once we have confirmed that it is in working order. We have already ordered a second used unit for the 2008 vehicle and it should arrive to us in the next few days. We will be replacing a broken touch screen radio that does not work anymore

We already had gone ahead and ordered 2 dash kits while we ordered everything for the 2005 car back in February. Simce the install for the 2005 is all done and out of the way, The second kit is for the 2008 car which we have available so the installation is up next! Stay tuned for more updates and we look forward to completing the installation of the second Toyota car. We’ll update back next week! Have a blessed Saturday
