Today’s sky will have a 1) solar eclipse (not visible here in WNC), a new moon in Leo (so reclaim your confidence and be seen without shrinking yourself for ANYONE), and the Perseid Meteor Shower after 11 pm (with a new moon, visibility is peak tonight!).

That said - we’ll be closed today Wednesday 8/12 and tomorrow Thursday 8/13 for a variety of reasons including but not limited to letting all this energy subside before I get people coming by asking if Cozy and Content offers showers (yes, that has happened) or some other unusual request. Anyone who’s worked in customer service will understand. 😅

Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know that I won’t be posting regularly to Facebook for the store for the foreseeable future, and I won’t be monitoring messages sent to the Cozy and Content Facebook account, or Meta for Business (which I cannot be convinced isn’t designed to drive people insane every time they open it).

I’m one person and I simply don’t have the time or energy to continue updating and monitoring multiple platforms. My brain was made for berry-picking and drawing on cave walls, not staying plugged into social media or trying to post to get attention when few of us have a morsel of attention left in our heads.

But Cozy isn’t disappearing from online by any means. We’re still on Instagram (), and we’re on TikTok ( - the rest of the world loves our meme posts and the cats), but for the most current updates and the status of inventory, new arrivals, etc., please just visit our website, https://www.cozyandcontentnc.com - I made it and update it frequently. So if you can’t make it to the store, please just use the good old World Wide Web like it’s 2005 or something. 💖

Where are my romance fans who love ripped bodices? Longing from across the ballroom? The redeeming of rakes and the scandals of sullied women who must marry or be shunned from society?

We sell so few historical romance novels and I cannot grasp why. All the tall, dark, and handsome fae warriors - you know that’s Mr. Darcy, right? So if you’re tired of the same old romantasies…maybe grab a copy of Pride and Prejudice. Or go more modern and read about that scoundrel Rhett Butler. Or even MORE modern and read A Knight in Shining Armor which is an OG time travel fairytale by the wonderful Jude Devereaux.

Expand your horizons and go back to the beginning because life is stressful enough and sometimes you just need a guy with a sword or a top-hat to save the day, win the lady, and everyone live happily ever after. 💕⚔️💕

Something new is coming to Cozy & Content.

Beginning this August, I’m launching The Lantern Society—a monthly gathering for anyone fascinated by folklore, ghost lore, mythology, historical magic, divination, Appalachian traditions, and the stories that have been passed down through generations.

Each month we’ll investigate a different topic through discussion, books, historical sources, tarot symbolism, artifacts, and shared curiosity.

Our first gathering is Thursday, August 6 at 6:30 PM, and we’ll begin by asking one question:

Where do folklore, folk magic, witchcraft, superstition, religion, and myth begin—and where do they overlap?

If you’ve ever found yourself drawn to haunted places, old stories, forgotten traditions, or the unexplained, I’d love to have you join us.
