What a day we had on our last day of our 5th week of Kids Summer Art Camp!

We finished every single project! And they did such a FANTASTIC job!!!

A couple of the girls wanted to color their easels a little more so they started with that today. If they were done we had them help clean up supplies from past projects.

Then we got started with the mosaic pieces. Each of them chose a different picture to either trace onto their canvas that they had painted black earlier in the week. They choose different colors for each section and glued them on and they looked absolutely amazing!

We then did our final project of painting with fun objects. They got cookie cutters, a squeegee, a fluffy pipe cleaner and a round pouncer. Different colors of paint were used for each different object to make different shapes and textures. It was neat to see how they decided to use each object!

This group got along so well and complimented each others work. It was wonderful week with these fun girls!

Today was our 3rd day of our fifth week of Kids Summer Art Camp!

Today we got to take our sun dyed prints out of the window and they turned out amazing! We took them downstairs and then rinsed them in water and the contrast really showed up so well!

The kids did an amazing job with choosing what to put on their papers and the composition! We had a tiny canvas and easel that they got to decorate and then add their favorite print.

Next we did a round collage with their choice of colors of tissue paper. They then chose letters and got to spell out different things like Love, mom etc. They turned out so cute!

These girls are so passionate about art! They’ve learned so many different techniques and have done an incredible job!

Tomorrow is the last day for this week of art camp and we’ll show you our final projects!

Today was our 2nd day of our 5TH week of Kids Summer Art Camp!

These girls got a TON done today! We started with finishing the painting on our wooden unicorns. While those dried we prepped a canvas by painting it black for a project happening later in the week.

Then we had them wash out their brushes in the sink and wash the paint off their hands as well.

Next, we began a really cool project. We bought cyanotype paper (sun printing paper) and had the kids lay out flowers, butterfly stickers and feathers in whatever design they liked. Then we layed a piece of glass on top to get a really good press of the pieces for a better print. Then we layed all the pieces in our front window to let the sun (what little sun we had) do its thing. Tomorrow we’ll pull them out and since then under water and see our prints!

Last, they each choose whatever colors of yarn they wanted for the mane and tail of their unicorn. Then they measured the yarn out and added it to the unicorn. They really did an amazing job!

Tomorrow we’ll be doing some collage pieces and we’ll see what else we have time for. 😊

Today is our last week with 5-8 year olds for Kids Summer Art Camp! (we have one more week for the 9+ year olds next week!)

This is group that we know because they have all attended Art Camp previously this summer. So we caught up on what everyone has been doing and then got to work! We started with a wooden trinket box and talked about what types of things they would keep in it. They first painted a light base coat and when that dried they designed the top to their liking and then did different designs on each side. They were really creative!

Then we started on another fun project which was a wooden unicorn that they painted in any colors they wanted and tomorrow we’ll add the yarn mane and tail!

This week we’ve got packed with projects including a mosaic piece and a collage piece to name a few! Stay tuned for updates and pictures!
