A town where everybody knows your name. We never locked our doors or cars.If you got sick you could best believe that we were going to bring you a good home cooked meal or pie.You could hear the Church bells ring all over the neighborhood. They rang every hour on the hour. Curfew was when the street lights came on. In HUNTERDALE.Our neighbors were our family, we helped one another and blessed your
heart ! ❤️ Everyone loved everyone and we watched out for each other A small town full of Love. Picking up old telephone wire that the telephone man dropped from the bucket truck. I would make rings , necklaces, bracelets anything .I would sit on the ground and just wait for the chunks of scrap wire to fall.Sometimes he would drop big bunches of wire yellow, green, red, blue. I would stay busy all day making jewelry from that wire made of gold.Keeping me busy and out of my mom's hair my dad would spend countless hours with me in his shop.He tinkered and worked on his cars, motorcycles etc. While I made rings out of pipes he taught me to saw off and grind them down to make them smooth.I would make glass rings out of the neck of Coke cola bottles . Pop showed me how to sand them down on his wheel to make them smooth. We would make rings out of nuts too we sanded them down and polished them to perfection. Sometimes I never said a word in that old garage all day. My creations said it all I guess.Who didn't make necklaces out of old chewing gum wrappers and necklaces from dandelions and clovers. Of course my Barbie dolls had to have homemade clothes and so did my baby dolls. You have to accessorize them you know. I would recycle old clothes and cut them up to make them a new wardrobe . I got my very first sewing machine when I was 10/11. My sister is 5 years older than me and my parents thought it was time for her to have a sewing machine so I got one as well. They knew I would not use it until I was older and I did not. I am still using my old Sears Kenmore sewing machine. I would'nt take anything for that sewing machine ! My number one fans are my children They are the masterminds behind my shop Frank and Dale. My children think I can do anything.( Shhh, we won't tell them any different.) Actually my husband Michael is the one who can do anything. He is my Hero,He Always has been,he always will be . My children challenge me from time to time . Knowing my background of imagination and creativity as a child to design and make things, they encouraged me to move forward with my creations . I was taught to recycle and use my imagination. With my love of nature ,my surroundings and my love of the beach, you will find meaning in everything I make Basically Love goes into all that I make. With a little Faith and confidence you can do anything. My blessings of working with my hands were given to me and I am thankful . I believe we should use our talents and gifts God gave us to make others happy and bless one another. If I did not use my talents I would not be happy and I know God would not be either. Making things sure make me happy. So Frank And Dale is born from the Amazing place I grew up HUNTERDALE and where I live now FRANKLIN . All in sweet Virginia where Love is born .
