I snapped this of some of the team heading home after one of our events this week. 🥹❤️They work so hard.
This month felt a bit like a crescendo for a year of programming growth. We hosted our 72nd author event of 2026 and our first double header. Our September visiting authors all hit the NYTimes bestseller list and have helped new readers discover our tucked-away bookshop. 🏡
🤝I am deeply proud of the team I get to work along side and learn from each day. They are smart, kind, funny, and generous with their time and compassion for others. I notice so many small moments when they pause to make something a little easier for a customer or each other.
This place has been a gift and a much needed refuge for me and I hope it is always that for our customers, too. 🛟
A few growth glimmers this year so far that you might not know about:
🪿Ms. Grace brings so much enthusiasm to monthly porch storytime and has given way hundreds of books for readgrowfly.
☕️📖Kate has refreshed our book club which has now been going strong for 8 months. (They meet on Monday 9/28 at Coffeehouse Five at 6 if you want to join.)
🎧Kara and Emily started a bookish podcast from scratch for the shop Fill Your Cup with Wild Geese Bookshop that makes you want to drop everything and read.
📍Suzie is helping us form new community partnerships and refresh the website.
🎤Lyndsie, Emma, Kara and Loren have all been thoughtful conversation partners for events this year.
🛍️Emma is finding really unique inventory for the shop and has me more ahead of front-list ordering than I ever could was when I was handling it.
📦💻Travis, Heather and Nathan have stepped in with more event support right when we needed it, and on and on.
We have more in store this year and Emily & Kara are pushing me outside my comfort zone in the best way (Twilight Rave at The Vogue, you say?) but if anything I’ve learned this year it’s that it’s good to pause with gratitude every chance I get. Thank you for keeping us going. - Tiffany
