Founded in 1973 in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Wheel & Sprocket began as a small, local bike shop with big dreams. Chris Kegel started out as a bicycle mechanic just two weeks after the store first opened. Since then, he has worked in every position in the company, from the bo

ttom up. Chris eventually became a partner in the business, and by 1989, he became the sole owner and president. Today, our Wheel & Sprocket brand has extended its reach to four stores in the Metro-Milwaukee area, two in the Fox Valley, and our first stores south of the border, in Evanston, and Oak Park, IL. It might just be!

John here was working with a customer who asked him to only replace his tubeless tire if it was absolutely necessary. For this tire, we called it at a whopping 17 punctures (see on the tire for yourself!).

That's a lot of punctures, but it's a great example of one of the biggest advantages of a tubeless setup: small punctures in the tread seal themselves while you ride.

Why go tubeless?
• Bye bye flats ➡️ Tubeless sealant fills small cuts and punctures as they happen
• No tubes➡️ Eliminate the weight & the pinch flats that come with it
• Run lower tire pressures ➡️ Improve comfort & traction while putting forth similar effort

Michael and Mark just completed a bikepacking trip around Lake Michigan!! These guys are some of the coolest cats at Wheel & Sprocket, check out the photos from their adventure😎

They packed up their bags with sleeping bags, tents, clothes, water, snackies, and more

Rode 602 miles around the big pond and climbed 11,000ft

Enjoy the beautiful views & fresh air (things you cannot see & get from a car road trip)

Took a few pit stops over the course of the week

And took a few nappies in trees

Got outside, together, for an epic summer trip

And accomplished something truly amazing along the way. Congrats to these guys! Where to next?👀

A busy week ahead indeed! We have lots of group rides going on this week and our last Used Bike Sale in Wisconsin.

8/15 • Street Love Ride • Chicago, IL • Saturday @ 6-10pm – Spreading love on Chicago’s west side. One city. One ride. Street Love Ride. The ride kicks off at 8pm. Light up your bikes and join this positive spectacle; this is a FREE event and open to all hosted by Boxing Out Negativity.

8/15-8/16 • WORS Treadfest • Lake Geneva, WI – WORS offers mountain bike riders of all backgrounds and abilities a competitive, fun, and family-friendly environment to test their skills and race. Men’s and women’s race categories from newbie all the way up to elite. Race at the Grand Geneva Resort this weekend!

8/16 • Race the Lake • Fond du Lac, WI • Sunday @ 5:30am – An epic 89-mile cycling adventure around Lake Winnebago with cash prizes.
