This guest was a longtime client of mine before moving out of state four years ago. With her daughter’s wedding coming up, she wanted to add a little length + volume and reached back out because she trusted both my extension method and my color expertise.
About a year before she moved, we did a pretty major color correction to get her as close to her natural white as we safely could, making the grow-out into her natural color SO much easier.
So when she reached out about extensions, my first thought was… where the hell am I going to find extension hair to match her beautiful white?! 😂

The Ethos Metal Gray + BL64 (Platinum Blonde) created by Shaylie George-Green & The Foundation Academy gave me a really good foundation to work with, so I ordered one weft of each before either of us committed to the full installation.
I knew immediately that the Platinum Blonde was going to need some work. It was beautiful, but still too yellow for the icy white blend I knew I needed. SO, before she even made the drive back for our color match, I got to experimenting.
I don’t typically color my wefts for an installation because I don’t want my guests having to maintain the color of their extensions throughout the life of the hair. But in this case, getting those first two wefts gave me the chance to see just how close I could get.
And I think my little concoction turned out pretty damn good. 🤌🏼
She’ll be back in a couple weeks for the full install and I CANNOT WAIT to see it all come together.
