Cut the day before, and in your hands for a Friday pickup from our flower farm in Franklinville.

That’s the part I don’t think I’ll ever get over — growing something from a tuber I put in the ground months ago and handing it to someone who lives five minutes down the road.

There’s no truck. No warehouse. No week in a cooler crossing a country you’ll never see.

Just this field, this morning, and your kitchen table by dinner.

First dahlia pickup of the final subscription of the season happens this evening.

Three more after this and that’s a wrap on 2026. Soak it up with me. 🫶💐

It might be the first day of October, but as a flower farmer in business owner, I’ve been thinking about spring for months.

It is a very busy yet quiet season of life for us, with some new twist and turns as we head into year 10 as a family, and year 4 growing flowers.

As I’ve been reflecting on the past year, not only am I so grateful but overwhelmed by the possibilities not only for our business, but our family and community over the next few years to come.

The universe has a funny way of working itself out and I’m learning to let go because things are happening better than I could imagine.

I hope to share more details soon, and in the meantime, I’ve been busy behind the scenes, getting our website, ready for fall bulbs (like these double tulips) for you to have in your own garden to plant this year and enjoy next spring. 🫶🌷

Here’s how I decide what actually goes in your bouquet, because it’s not random.

I walk the rows first and see what’s genuinely at its peak that day — not what I wish were ready.

Then I pick one focal that sets the tone, usually a dahlia this time of year.

Supporting stems come next to echo the color without competing.

Filler for movement.

Greenery last, and I aim for about 70/30 flowers to foliage, because that ratio just looks right.

Tomorrow is the first pickup of the dahlia subscription — the last one of the 2026 season — and this is exactly the process behind every single one. 🫶

Subscriptions are closed for the year, and I can’t thank you enough for supporting our farm.

It’s my birthday and I’m spending it designing florals, with intention.

There was a version of my life where a birthday meant taking a day off from something I didn’t love.

Now it’s just a Wednesday I get to spend doing this — on my own land, on my own terms, with flowers I grew from seed.

I’m a farmer florist, a mom, a horse girl who traded the saddle for a seed tray and somehow ended up with both.

That’s the whole gift.

Thanks for being here for another year of it. 🤍

Every one of these started as a seed in my field as well as our local collective of NJ and PA growers, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this community this season.

A season’s worth of work in one place — bouquets, installs, bridal parties, a bridal shower backdrop, bulk blooms. I couldn’t never grow tired of this! 🫶

I look at this and mostly think about how much my design has refined in a year. Same hands, completely different eye.

My 2027 books are open for weddings, bridal showers, and celebrations.

Two additions this year: the floral backdrop rental (gold arch, linens, florals, styled on site) and the Bloom Bar now in two sizes, including a smaller setup for intimate gatherings.

Learn more on our website and send me a message if you have questions before you book!

I’m going to say something a little controversial for a flower farmer. This Spring, my double peony tulips were better than my peonies. 🌷

Not a knock on peonies — I love them. But these tulips came out of the field with that same full, ruffled, layers-on-layers look, and they held in a vase like champions.

People kept asking me what kind of peony it was.

It wasn’t a peony. It was a tulip.

That’s why I’m bringing them back this Fall as bulbs you can plant yourself, like last year — the same varieties I grow for our cut flower harvest, in an early, mid and late season mix so you get weeks of them instead of one good week.

Pre-orders open the first week of October.

My email list gets first pick before anything goes public. You can subscribe to the email list on our website. 🤍

The flowers you drool over in April are a decision you make in November. 💐

Tulips, peonies, anemones, ranunculus — none of them are a Spring purchase. They go in cold ground in Fall, sit through Winter doing invisible work, and show up first thing in Spring like they were always going to be there.

Miss the window and you’re waiting a full year.

That’s it, that’s the whole secret.

Pre-orders for bulbs, roots, and corms are opening — double peony tulips, bare root peonies, and more.

Pickup only, no shipping.

Join our email list to know exactly when the varieties are open for ordering on our website.

What a pickup weekend actually looks like on our flower farm — little hands included.

Sorting bins. Staging bundles by name. Double-checking that the person who ordered The Front Steps doesn’t drive off with The Entryway. Hauling, counting, re-counting.

Nobody sees this part — they see a pretty porch a few days later. But this is the job, and honestly it’s my favorite kind of tired.

One I’m proud to share with my littles.

There’s one more pre-order pickup weekend left, next weekend.

After that I’ll be stocking the seasonal stand with à la carte pumpkins for anyone building as they go.

This season has been unreal. 🥹 The dahlias are sealing the deal for me.

3, nearly 4 years ago I grew my first flower, from seed, with intention and literally planting hope (in my darkest days of postpartum).

Last Summer I finally said yes to my dreams of flower farming full-time, and I’ve learned a ton, met some amazing people, and am filled with such gratitude and aspirations for what’s to come.

Thank you for being here. 🫶

Rachel
