Wonderful news... Hazel is HOME! ❤️

We're so happy to report that Hazel was found around 11 pm last night and is safe and sound with her family.

Her owners were beginning to lose hope as she had wandered closer and closer to the wilderness. Then came the moment they'd been hoping for: Liz softly called Hazel's name, and she came running, jumping straight into Liz's arms. Once home, Hazel enjoyed a well-deserved meal... and then promptly fell into a deep sleep after her big Fraser adventure.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who searched, shared her photo, and helped spread the word. It truly takes a village, and we're incredibly grateful for this community.

📸 Pictured here is Hazel on a recent high-alpine adventure, taking a nap while Liz and Josh landed some beautiful Colorado cutthroat trout. We couldn't be happier that she's back where she belongs and will have more fishing adventures to come.

ATTENTION EVERYONE — not just our anglers! 🎣🐾

We need your eyes on this one. Hazel, a sweet blue heeler, has been spotted near the fly shop and around Fraser, including County Road 8.

Please do NOT approach or chase her. She's in fight-or-flight mode, and chasing her could push her farther away. If you see her, note the location and call her owner, Liz, immediately at 970-531-8336.

Hazel has both an AirTag and physical ID tags, so every sighting helps.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post. Let's bring Hazel home.

And in with our new sign! HUGE THANKS to...

Joel Lunsford & Jeannette of Lunsford Sign Works, for the amazing design, crafting and hanging of our sign! We couldn't be more pleased.

And also to the Town of Fraser for the generous grant to pay for part of the sign! What a great first impression now as people arrive to Fraser from Berthoud Pass.

Curious about the story behind the sign's design?
Joel filled us in that he used a cable for the fly line, a big tuna hook, and broom bristles for the dry fly. Pretty creative! Fly shop owner, Jeff Ehlert, chose the fly to be a replica of an H&L Variant (as shown). The significance of the fly pattern is that it was Dwight Eisenhower's favorite fly, when Fraser, CO was considered the "Western Whitehouse".

Drought isn't just a water issue, it's a fisheries issue. Lower flows and warmer water are impacting the rivers, fish, and recreation that make northwest Colorado special.

Many anglers are already wondering what conditions will look like by July and August. This informative article from explores the outlook for our local fisheries, with insight from Jon Ewert, Colorado Parks and Wildlife's aquatic biologist for Grand and Summit counties.

Unprecedented spawning, low flows, hotter temperatures — these are some of the phrases used by state biologists to describe the situation facing Colorado’s northwestern fisheries as a drought persists in the region. At the start...

Just sharing yet another 5 star Google review from a happy client! Thanks Mary for taking a moment out of your day to tell the world about us. Jesse and Leif are definitely keepers!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Posted 1 hour ago
My family of five wanted to try fly fishing for the first time while we were on vacation and this place exceeded our expectations by far! They helped us with the process of getting fishing licenses, waders, boots, and instructed us on the basics before we entered the river! Our two anglers, Jesse and Leif, were incredibly knowledgeable and patient with our family. Despite the wind, we caught many fish and can’t wait to try fly fishing again and again! Jesse was especially helpful with teaching and encouraging my younger children! This was an awesome experience and I highly recommend booking an outing with Winter Park Flyfisher!

Flows are up and the fish are happy and willing to eat a dry fly. Caddis, and pmds are the hot ticket right now. These “Bozeman boys” had so much fun float fishing with guides Riley and Jeff, that Taylor Bozeman booked a wade trip for tomorrow!

Book a float trip soon to get it while the fishing is hot!
