The City of Frederick is hosting a first-of-its-kind five-day design event to invite the public to help shape the future of the East Street corridor.
The charrette begins with a kick-off meeting at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12. All charrette activities will take place at the City Hall Annex (140 W. Patrick Street). The main community event, a Hands-On Citizen’s Planning Work session, will take place the following Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Attendees will be able to provide recommendations on topics like walkability, the character and scale of streets, open spaces, and new buildings for this corridor. After working through the issues, a citizen from each table group will present their major ideas/concepts to the full audience. Many areas of consensus will emerge. These will form the foundation of the new East Frederick Vision Plan and the resulting development regulations (zoning).
Please contact Arash Ghahramani at [email protected] or 301.600.1889 with additional questions regarding the charrette.
