My daughter, Emily, has always been creative yet shy. One day, when she was 8, she came up with a comfort solution that we never expected. With scraps of fabric, scissors, glue and thread, she made Bob, the original Pocket Pal. Bob fit in her pocket, was easy to carry around and made Emily feel better when things were too new or seemed too hard. She made him a pocket. So, I’d put a “love you” or “let your braveness beat your worries” note in that pocket for her to find when she was at school, a sleepover, or just felt anxious. Over time, she designed 5 other Pocket Pals with different personalities, and we embarked on having fabric designed to match her drawings and making them to sell. Emily and I hope her Pocket Pals bring as much joy and comfort to your child as they have for her.
