When the small things are the big things:
Fret wear happens gradually, and before they know it, many people are playing on a frets that resemble those bent traffic cones you see in ditches by the side of the road. Luckily, it's usually fixable and makes a huge difference to playability.

1. Nobody wants to see how the sausage is made, but binding the end of a F5-style mandolin fingerboard is, to understate it, a challenge.
2. Pre-bending the binding to those tight radius curves involves warming the binding material to make it pliable, fitting it into a bending template jig (dowels of various diameters), then allowing it to cool to retain its new shape. Makes fitting the binding to the shaped fingerboard much easier.

A simple single black purfling strip inside the celluloid binding on both the front and side face - kind of a homage to the elegant early Gibson L-5 binding scheme.

Early 70s Alvarez 12-string came in with damage to the top from a previous less-than-perfect bridge removal. The damage to the laminated top was cleaned up and patched with new spruce. Unfortunately, the original removed bridge wasn't returned with the guitar (also far from less-than-perfect), so it needed a new one carved with the old pin spacing, custom sized to the old footprint.
