Well Pennsic will be interesting.
I’m struggling to get stock complete AND special orders, my kids aren’t coming, husband said he’d be there almost whole time and now is NOT (where my war boyfriends at?!!!! ;)), my service dog is broken, I’ll be hosting all new products for someone else (I’m sure her items will sell like crazy!!!!), and now my weirdo alien kid is letting go of chunks of her eclectic collections to have for sale at the Souq.
Top this off with tariff prices making things difficult to acquire, and this is shaping up to be an unusual sales event!
So, the Souq (marketplace or bazaar in Arabic) will be an oddball mix of curated fabrics, Middle Eastern historically accurate clothing, Turkish towels, Ottoman ceramics, some Persian copper enamel, jewelry from the known world, Turkish coffee, shoes, veils and sashes, tarpus and Taj, scraps of fine fabrics for crafty needs, books, and now high end yardsale of oddities (Only Allah knows what Finn will send me, but we will have some wood blocks, we have a $500 Ajna drum with enamel damage I’ll let go of for basically nuthin, stuffies for kiddos, mugs and feast ware, and more!
I normally don’t offer up such a hodge podge and may do the wild assortment as a midnight madness thing, IDK. I want to support the kiddos though and these are items they have collected to try and earn a few bucks.
I will also bring a couple sewing machines to let go of that I’ll have available to rent during war, and likely some goodies from my travels around the world.
I do have a rather extensive antique doll collection and an entire set of porcelain Storybook Dolls. New in box. They are over 50 years old. Should I bring? They’d be kind of cool for younger folks. My kids have no interest in them.
