1950 Gibson SJ-200 'King of the Flat Tops'
This is an exquisite Super Jumbo from mid 20th century. A transitional year as Gibson was shifting from rosewood to maple on these models which helps add some articulate treble to the thunderous low end projection of the 17″ body. The FON on this guitar 2222 34 points to 1949 and the serial number (which apparently was corrected with a bit of added paper to the label by Gibson) A-5890 points to 1950. This has the much more desirable single X-bracing with a body depth of 4 7/8″ and a darker finish than most. The guitar is all original except for the pickguard which deteriorated (as they often do) and was replaced with a great looking replica. The guitar is also crack-free save for a couple cleated repairs underneath the pickguard. The action is low and neck is straight which gives this Super Jumbo guitar amazing playability and the sound is a huge balanced cannon fire of tone. Comes with original Lifton case.

1965 C.F. Martin 000-18
1965 was a very transitional year from Martin and their 000-18 guitars. This guitar is straddling the eras with specs from both old and young such as the earlier tortoise pickguard and small maple bridge plate, yet a later drop in saddle on the bridge. This guitar is in remarkably good condition with a few professionally done repairs like a typical ‘B-string’ crack under the pickguard and a couple small back cracks all that have been secured and cleated. The 1 11/16″ nut of the time paired with a beefier 50s profile neck makes a pleasurable playing experience. The bridge had at some point been sanded down a bit (ostensibly to bring down the action as it has), however, there is little saddle remaining and no adjustment left. As it stands it has great playability. Comes with original hard shell case still with the key!

1935 Gibson Roy Smeck Radio Grande
A very rare, early 12-fret jumbo guitar from Gibson. These were originally designed and billed as Hawaiian guitars, however they often became conversions and the tone out of these beasts is unparalleled. This was converted by Allen Pearlman in CA and sports a comfortable 1 7/8″ nut with a beefy V shaped neck. The neck has been reset and nut and saddle converted for Spanish style playing. The top show play wear yet has no cracks, the back and sides indicate overspray and/or refinishing and there’s some blemishes next to the fretboard on the top, but otherwise all original. The back has a long running crack likely a finish crack as we cannot really ascertain that it makes it all the way through the wood and it is stable and non-moving. The playability is great and the guitar needs no work . The sound is huge and balanced and this would be great for any player’s collection. W/HSC

2007 Rayco Resonator Square Neck Guitar

Rayco Resophonics is the brainchild of luthiers Mark Thibeault and Jason Friesen, who founded the company in 2002, adding fellow artisans Damian Jones and Josh Lafountain to the team in 2011. Rayco now offers a full line of resonator guitars. This square neck features beautiful quilted maple with maple binding and excellent craftsmanship. The sound is bright and punchy and Rayco is becoming a well sought after brand in the bluegrass realm. Very light play wear no major trauma, great sound and comes w/HSC.

1954 C.F. Martin 0-15
Martin’s other all mahogany guitar, the 15 series began in the 1940s through the mid 1960s and was only offered in the single O size until the modern era. The 15 differs from the 17 series in that it has one less fret (19 vs 20) which moves slightly the position of the bridge and the soundhole, as well as no toner on the all mahogany finish. This guitar has had a neck set at some point in its life making it extremely playable and the old mahogany punches and chimes beautifully. The 1 11/16″ nut and the chunky D profile neck work well together and there is some saddle to lower the action as one likes. This guitar has been well played but no major repairs or trauma to report. A great sounding mahogany guitar and reasonably priced with a modern HSC.

1944 C.F. Martin 0-17
The sound of vintage mahogany guitars continues to impress and inspire. As mahogany ages, the punch and clarity intensifies and produces a wonderfully articulate small bodied guitar. This guitar is no slouch in tone and playability and it is priced nicely as a player’s guitar. Bumps and bruises abound, yet no major repairs or cracks to report. The bridge plate is replaced with a maple replacement, and the saddle is running pretty low without much adjustment. Still, the action sits at 4/32″ on the 12th fret, which on these small bodies plays very manageably. The neck has a slim 1 11/16″ nut and very comfortable low D profile. Overall the guitar plays very nicely and sounds spectacular. W/ non original HSC.

What a cool ladder braced guitar. We have dated this to late forties (1949) with its characteristics and specs, there is no visible FON or Serial. Several cracks have been professionally repaired on the front back and sides, but overall it is in great playing condition with low action and plenty of saddle. This has a great percussive tone and would provide any player with a cool alternative tone. Comes with original chipboard case in ok condition.
