Omie is BACK in the kitchen! 🥖💛
Fresh-baked goodies will be back on the shelves at your favorite local retailers tomorrow!
It’s always a little nerve racking when I have to leave for a few days. Before I go, I feed Thelma (my sourdough starter and the real heavy lifter in this kitchen 🥰) and tuck her into the fridge for a little break. I always worry just a bit about how she’ll react when I get home and ask her to get back to work!
This time, Adam stayed behind, which meant he was in charge of several things…including Thelma! He had to take her out, discard her extra fluff, and feed her so she’d be ready to work her magic when I got home last night and mixed dough.
And y’all… ADAM DID GREAT!
Friday, he took me to the airport, delivered bakery goodies, baked additional scones, handled an animal emergency, cooked for a rehearsal dinner, and was just downright AMAZING.
Sunday, he picked up our granddaughters and spent some quality time with them. He got up Monday, took care of Thelma, took the girls to the zoo, AND picked me up from the airport.
Did I mention he’s amazing???
I mixed dough last night, divided everything this morning, and just baked a test loaf. And guess what? THELMA IS HAPPY! She’s producing a beautiful loaf, and we are officially back in business!
I absolutely LOVE being a baker and doing all the things that come with running Omie’s BakeHaus. But you know what I love just as much? Having a husband who isn’t afraid to jump in, learn something new, and keep things moving when I need him to.
This little bakery may have my name on it, but there’s a whole lot of love, teamwork, and support behind it. And I’m so thankful for the man who stands beside me through all of it. 💛
So, get ready, y’all! Fresh goodies are coming tomorrow, and I can’t wait to fill those shelves again!
Thank you for supporting this little bakery and giving us the opportunity to do what we love. 🥖💕
