Thank you SO much to the amazing members of the Smithsonian Women’s Committee! Craft2Wear 2025 was a beautifully curated show in an amazing historic museum! The Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building provided a spectacular backdrop to highlight all of the artists work! I was so honored to be the cover artist of the program this year! THANK YOU! It is truly an honor to be included in such a great show. I am grateful to be able to help with the mission of the SWC to help fund programs for the Smithsonian.

After many hours of painting, the dyes must be set. The silk is sandwiched between builders paper and blank news print. It is then rolled onto a steel core and sealed. Then gently placed into the steamer. It is VERY important the silk and the paper do not get wet otherwise the pieces will get ruined. The steamer is closed and will heat to approximately 250F. This process will take a couple of hours. Fingers crossed!!! 🤞If all goes well, these pieces will be available at the Smithsonian Craft2Wear show this weekend!!!

What a day! is working so much getting ready for These pieces are all in the early stages of painting but will be at the show after completing! I hope to post progress photos as they evolve! Mark your calendars!!!! September 26-28 at the Smithsonian Institution Arts and Industries Building!

SNOW DAY! The gym is closed and the roads have ice and snow so no miles to walk or run …. But there is snow to shovel! What a great workout! Over 4 miles clocked just on my walkway, sidewalks and driveway, over 485 calories burned, I don’t know how many squats done lifting the shovel, great ab workout and my arms are feeling it! ❄️💪😊

Friday is in the books! Done today but tomorrow and Sunday are going to be beautiful ! I haven’t posted because I was setting up…yesterday was SO long…This morning I started to complete my setup at 7 a.m. and worked furiously until we opened at 10 a.m. It’s been a wonderful day and I was SO happy to see so many of my incredible collectors!
