If we could put a personality to the Asscher cut diamond, we might call it calm and wise. The square shape, cropped corners and dramatic deep step-cut allow it to reflect light in broad and deep bursts. It doesn't flash. It is entirely sophisticated.

You may, or may not, know the storied origin of the Marquise cut diamond. It is said that Louis XV commissioned a royal jeweler to create a shape of diamond that looked like the perfect lips of his chief mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour. "Brown Goldsmiths did excellent work on my fiancee's engagement ring. They worked with me to create a custom piece. Their design was amazing right out of the gate and Kathy was very helpful and patient with all the small changes I asked for to make the ring perfect. We'll definitely be coming back to design our wedding bands!"

We absolutely loved this custom project, and even better, our customer did too. After purchasing a loose teal sapphire from us, the stunning gem was transformed with rubies, orange sapphires, diamonds and 14k gold maple leaf details. 🍁
