For much of my time in direct sales, I thought something was wrong with me.

I watched other women seem to crack a code I just couldn't figure out. Same products, same company, same opportunity. And yet there I was, following the playbook more closely, studying harder, showing up more, and still feeling like I was missing something everyone else had figured out.

Turns out I wasn't missing anything. I was just taking my cues from the wrong place.

The shift that changed everything wasn't a new strategy or a better script. It was learning to listen to myself, build from my own values, and stop chasing someone else's version of success.

I'm in the top .2% of my company now, with 13 incentive trips earned. Not because I finally cracked the code, but because I finally figured out that while I could learn from others my real authority comes from listening to my own soul.

My deep joy now is helping other women do the same thing, because friend, there is nothing wrong with you either. You might just need someone who's walked the path to hold space for you to figure out the journey that's yours.

If that resonates, come follow along. This is where I share what building it differently actually looks like.

This summer on a hike I found these two pine cones.

The big one is dramatic and obvious. The small one, the one that looks like nothing, is the seed of a California Redwood. The actual seed is about the size of a piece of oatmeal, and from that tiny thing grows the biggest tree on earth.

It's amazing.

I think about that a lot. How the most significant things rarely look significant at the start.

One small conversation, the small yes, the small decision to finally DO the thing that's in you to do...those are the ones that change everything.

Galadriel said it better than I can, and I'm hoping I score some big points with my kids on this post because I wove in a Lord of the Rings quote.

Friend, don't underestimate what's already growing in you, and know that I for one am in your corner. Always.

When I tried to fit myself into the script that was handed to me for my life, it just didn’t fit.

I grew up watching my mom bring home the paycheck and lead in the world, which paved a path for my sister and me to do the same. I led a college ministry even when the church I was part of said women shouldn’t. I looked for a partner, not a leader. We built a homeschool around both of us teaching and both of us working. Our kids grew up watching two people lead together.

I didn’t have a roadmap. I just kept listening to what I knew, even when the voices around me were loud and sure and pointed the other direction.

And now, I get to help women do the same. 🌿

If any of this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Drop a ❤️ or tell me one way you’ve done life a little differently than what was handed to you.

I love my life, but it has cost me.

There have been ups and downs, and plenty of thoughts my brain has offered.

It’s felt risky to say yes to pretty much every single step in my life. And...looking back, I feel grateful. Grateful I had the courage to craft a life that’s mine.

If you’re a fellow traveler looking for some encouragement to listen to your own soul and create what’s uniquely yours, I’m glad you found this. ❤

I’ve never done things on anyone else’s timeline.

Married at 32 instead of 25. Moved to inner city Fresno instead of staying where things were safe. Became a mom at 35 instead of 28. Chose part time when everyone around me was going full time. And when it came to building income, I did that differently too.

Every single one of those choices felt countercultural in the moment. Some of them felt scary. A few of them raised eyebrows from people I loved. But looking back, not one of them was wrong. They were just mine.

If you’ve been doing life a little off-script, y’all, you’re probably exactly where you’re supposed to be. 🌿

Nobody tells you what it costs to actually choose your own dreams.

I didn’t know either. Until I did.

There is life on the other side. It can be different.

And now the most life-giving work I do is helping other women find their way there too. ❤️

If I had a dime for every time I’ve been told to leave my comfort zone I’d be rich.

Being an entrepreneur has meant lots of discomfort, but as someone who burned out before I started my business, I’ve gotten very careful about how I position things.

I believe we don’t need to leave our comfort zones. Ever.

That doesn’t mean we stay comfortable. Growth requires us to expand...to learn new things...to become aware of what we don’t know.

Maybe it’s a matter of semantics, but for me the reframing of this changes things.

I have learned to support myself in my growth and expansion, and it makes all the difference.

I’d love to hear how this lands, and if you’re interested in learning more about how to be both successful and sustainable, give me a follow. I’ve got more coming.

In 2011 I said yes to two things that felt completely counter to everything I’d imagined for my life.

Homeschooling the boys. And a Norwex business.

Both felt a little like I wanted to throw up. Both turned out to be exactly right.

The editing in this reel is rough. The story is real. And honestly, the last 15 years have been about exactly that, dreaming and then taking imperfect action anyway.

If you’re in a season where something feels both a little scary and exactly right, drop a ❤

Follow along if you want more of the real stuff.

POV: you resigned from a leadership role because it was draining you dry, and then you built a life on your own terms. Now you help women do the same.

If you want a life that’s fully yours, build something on your own terms.

If you want to be present for the people you love and do meaningful work, build something on your own terms.

If you want a life where Monday is just another day, build something on your own terms.

If you want work that actually matters and centers your thriving, build something on your own terms.

I help women do exactly this: zero hustle, just real income and a life that feels like you.

Drop a ❤️ if this is the life you’re after.

Around here, people eat every.single.day, and it's a lot.

It may sound crazy, but the thing I've learned that works for me is to sit down and plan out an entire month of dinner menus at a time.

When I wrap up work and head into the kitchen and a previous version of me has already made the plan and shopped for the groceries, I could kiss her.

Underneath it all, this is a way I care for me and my people. We eat better, and I get to enjoy cooking without the daily stress of figuring out what to have.

Do you meal plan? Tell me your system in the comments...I love learning what others do!
