September had absolutely no concept of work-life balance. 🥴

I went back to teaching art in Selma through the Fresno Arts Council, got to share my work at the Betty Rodriguez Library with my friend Rina of Craft & DIY Studio | Downtown Fresno | Visit us for Art Hop, somehow kept the 5am workouts going, watching our house slowly come back together, and basically picked up a second job as a quinceañera planner. 😅

But one thing I keep thinking about is how much my community shows up. Friends creating, helping me, training together, teaching, sharing ideas, and making even the busiest days feel a little lighter. 🫶🏽

October will probably be the peak of the chaos, but after that, I really look forward to a slower kind of pace. 🤞🏽

One of my favorite things about being an artist is finding other creative people to collab with. 💕

So happy I got to share my artwork alongside my friend Rina’s Craft & DIY Studio | Downtown Fresno | Visit us for Art Hop photography and felt art for ArtHop at the Betty Rodriguez Library.📚

Being surrounded by other creatives has become one of my favorite parts of this journey. Creativity really is better in community. 💫

I was told to illustrate “more American” when I presented this piece during a mentorship program.

That feedback stayed with me, but I’ve realized that whether or not my artwork finds a place in mainstream publishing, I’ll proudly continue working with independent and self-published authors who share my passion for amplifying OUR voices and bringing OUR stories to life. 🫶🏽

Our stories are powerful and deserve to be told. May we always be proud of our roots. Happy Latinx Heritage Month! 🤎💫

Summer has been fun, but oh so busy. 😅☀️ And somewhere in between all the chaos, I finally finished this painting. 🥹🎨

My replica of Mary Blair’s Cinderella’s Mirror (1950) from the Erin Green Replicants Course, and definitely my favorite! ✨

This one took me a while, but it reminded me that even when progress feels slow… it’s still progress. 💗

Trying to live a little more in the moment lately. Less rushing, more enjoying the process. And eventually… things do get finished. 😅🫶🏽
