A little fun fact: This Kimball Upright is made of quarter sawn oak, which was very popular for arts or craft style furniture in the early 20th century. Although the process of achieving quarter sawn oak is much longer and can be more wasteful because of the way it is cut, it produces sturdier pieces of wood than that of flat sawn oak. Given this information, any quarter sawn oak period piece is something of very high value! We love restoring such unique timeless pianos!
