Some pieces wait a long time for the right person to walk through the door. This week, two of them left together.

A collector uncovered our Superior Instruments Model TV-11 tube tester, then spotted the General Electric Electronics tube case to go with it. Both are hard to find on their own, so finding the pair in one visit made his whole week. He headed home elated, with two new treasures for his collection.

Watching someone light up over the exact thing they have been hunting for is the best part of this business. We never know what will walk out the door next, which also means we never know what is sitting here waiting for you.

Come treasure hunting this week. Your find might be on our shelves right now.

Today is Farm to Fam day!

Each box is packed with farm-fresh staples from our local Virginia farmers, about five dinners plus snacks for a family of four. It is free if you qualify, and 100% of proceeds go right back into the program.

We even include recipes to go with what is in the box, with fresh ideas each time so the same good ingredients never feel the same twice.

We put it together with Robby D's Lil Greens and the farmers who grow it, neighbors taking care of neighbors.

And speaking of Rob: his Grow Your Own Microgreens workshop kicks off at 10am that same morning at Fox Trax Market, right in the same building. Grab your box, then learn to grow your own tiny greens. Sign up here: https://square.link/u/kuhxVq9c

Pickup: Saturday, August 1, 10am to noon
Debbie's Lighthouse, 515 N Commerce Ave, Front Royal

Everyone's welcome at the table.

Heads up, Front Royal: new date for Rob's workshop.

The Grow Your Own Microgreens workshop with Robby D's Lil Greens is now happening Saturday, August 1 at 10am at Fox Trax Market. Same hands-on workshop, one week later. You will plant your own tray, learn the whole process from seed to snip, and take it all home to keep growing. No green thumb required.

It is $25 per person and covers everything: your tray, your seeds, and all your materials.

Spots are limited, and this extra week is your chance to grab one. Reserve here: https://square.link/u/kuhxVq9c

What a day, Front Royal.

Saturday was our Community 250th Celebration, and you showed up in the best way. The anniversary arch, tables piled with farm-fresh goodness, small-batch treats from our vendor friends, karaoke echoing through the building, game stations, popcorn, and a pie table that never stood a chance.

Thank you to every neighbor, vendor, and volunteer who made the day what it was. Happy Creek Antiques, Fox Trax Farm Market, and Debbie's Lighthouse are proud to call this community home. 250 years, celebrated the way we do best. Together.

And we are not done. Next up: Cars & Corn, coming this September to Happy Creek Antiques. Classic cars, sweet corn, and another good day with good neighbors. Follow along so you don't miss it.

The kitchen shelf, fifty years at a time.

Remember the toasters from our Father's Day post? They've got company now. This shelf holds two generations of breakfast: an early chrome toaster with the fancy cutout doors (the kind where you flipped the bread yourself), and a GE two-slice that still has its original use and care book tucked behind it. In between sits a copper kettle with a story or two, an old Maxwell House tin, and a whole board of bottle openers and corkscrews waiting to be somebody's kitchen-drawer collection.

All of it displayed on an antique stove, because around here even the shelves have history.

Come pick your era. We're open Friday through Sunday, 9 to 5, at 515 N. Commerce Ave.

Happy Independence Day, Front Royal!

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a bold idea became a nation. Today we get to celebrate it, in our hometown, with the people who make this community what it is.

From all of us, thank you for being part of the story we're still writing together. Here's to the freedoms we share, the neighbors we look out for, and 250 years of the American spirit.

Wishing you and yours a safe, proud, and joyful Fourth.

One important note in case you missed it: our free Community 250th Celebration has been moved to next Saturday, July 11. With extreme heat and possible thunderstorms in this weekend's forecast, we made the call to move the day so everyone can enjoy it safely and comfortably. Same celebration, same spirit, just one week later: Saturday, July 11, 10 AM to 3 PM at 515 N. Commerce Ave, with food, music, and family fun all day long.

Even with the big celebration now set for July 11, Debbie's Lighthouse is still here for our neighbors today. Farm to Fam Boxes are ready and available right now, packed with fresh, wholesome food to help carry your family through the week. Stop by, and if you qualify, yours is free. Something for everyone, every week.

God bless America, and happy 250th. πŸŽ†

With the country turning 250 this week, we pulled our Americana corner together and it stopped us in our tracks. A dress belt with the old Great Seal eagle buckle, a VFW garrison cap, folded flags, a Civil War era oil lamp, and history books that have already lived through a few generations.

Look for the "Spirit of '76" postcard tucked into the display. Little pieces like that are the ones that tend to find a new home fast.

This is American history you can hold in your hands. Come wander.
