So, a few weeks ago, I bought the last of a large collection and I told you all that there were going to be pictures. Here they are... but I'd like to say something about this collection first.
As a collector we fill many roles. Sometimes we're speculators. Sometimes we're dealers. But sometimes, we're curators, archivists, and completionists.
This particular collection originally belonged to the son of the man who sold it to me. His son was a completionist that loved DC'S NEW 52. He collected almost all of the run of Batman, Detective Comics, Supergirl, green Lantern, Batman and Robin, Batman the dark knight, and Batwing (all pictured)among them. But, unfortunately he died before completing these series. His father held onto them awhile before making the decision to reach out to me. As I was going through this collection, I could see the great care that his son put into it. So, I decided to finish all of these runs for him, to honor what he had already collected. Because I'm also a historian at heart, I realize that each collection I buy and sell has a real person behind it, with a story of their own. The series pictured below are now complete.
I still have a few other series I'm finishing from this collection, like Justice league, Future's end, Red Hood and the outlaws , and Action Comics.
