Not only is it National Girlfriend Day, it’s also National Sunflower Day🌻

Here’s a Few Sunflower Facts:🌻🌻🌻

Each sunflower head is a cluster of up to 2,000 tiny individual flowers (called florets) packed together.

They follow the sun: ☀️Young sunflowers practice “heliotropism”, meaning their faces track the sun from east to west every day. Mature sunflowers stop tracking the sun and permanently face east to warm up faster and attract more pollinators.

The tallest recorded sunflower grew to 35 feet and 9 inches tall.😳

Indigenous peoples in North and Central America grew and used sunflowers for food, oil, medicine, and dyes thousands of years before Europeans arrived. 🥰
