Been focusing on recently, but getting closer to painting with Sigmund! It ain't much, but it's honest work, to prepare my leftovers for UPCYCLING and turning them into art

Building the latest version of my painting bot. Relocating to Vienna Austria calls for a new name. Hence, meet Sigmund!

I learned a lot from y'all working with ERAS in the past. Sigmund is going to be able to do lots of stuff better. Swapping in leveling casters isn't very exciting, but will let me soon install the outer shell and start painting!

Still tons to optimize, but a key goal has been reached here:
the system can now fill multiple syringes with the same programmed recipe and get reasonably consistent results.
This clip shows those syringes being deposited by hand.
That repeatability is a big deal.

Adventures in Upcycling part 3: getting there! After trying a lot of stuff that didn't work, I finally managed to turn waste PLA into something reasonable. Turns out PLA needs a little bit of pressure to flow properly. Think I should paint it or keep it for posterity?

Adventures in Upcycling part 3: getting there! After trying a lot of stuff that didn't work, I finally managed to turn waste PLA into something that looks almost like what I had in mind. Turns out it doesn't just melt into place, but needs a little bit of pressure on it to form properly. Would you paint it?

I have a confession to make. I've been telling y'all all along that ERAS can reproduce anything you make with it. That was only true when using syringes that were filled with a single color of paint!

I discovered working with ERAS that we can achieve really nice effects when we load multiple paints into the same syringe. The problem was, doing this by hand meant I could never get the same result. With this syringe filling machine, we can now not only reproduce a piece, but also achieve patterns and symmetries that are a result of systematically loading paint into the syringes

Just got the coupling mechanism to work reliably. Next step? Actually loading paint!
