Announcement that I will cross post to my page and some groups: Prismatic Scales Creations will not be vending at Pennsic this year. This is due to a combination of burnout and a minor dispute with the PA tax authority, despite paying more than I owed in taxes last year. I'm looking forward to attending Pennsic this year as a patron and just getting in a real vacation, as I haven't had a proper vacation in a couple of years. I look forward to camping with FoxHeart again and will definitely be there the middle weekend!

Gold plated earrings with real opal, emeralds and high quality pearls. The pendant piece is made out of gold-filled wire that I hand formed and hammered out on a mini anvil. I hand drilled the emerald and opal beads to fit on the wire pins.

The hardest part about working with ancient materials is the success rate. For the 20 beads I made, I get 6 usable ones.

Working with egyptian faience today, have been drawing inspiration from a blue lotus cup in the Brooklyn museum that dates back to 1938-1539 B.C.E.
Here's hoping it dries well and doesn't crack in the kiln!!

Just finished another Egyptian broad collar. This is made with feldspar, which modernly is referred to as amazonite, but was very commonly utilized in broad collar necklaces in period. The second picture is an extant example that I drew inspiration from for this piece.

Continuing my roll, here is an egyptian usekh broad collar design made entirely from real pearls and amethysts. Both those gems were very precious to the ancient Egyptians, but not seen in this configuration. I like to think of this as a creative history project, using gems they would have recognized in history, but used in interesting ways.

Starting today, I will post more pics of my jewelry creations. 14k Gold plated silver findings with real opal faceted beads. I think they look like some fantasy fruit. Now I just need to figure out how to price them.

Don't forget to swing by Prismatic Scales Creations for your Least Weasel Weaving card woven needs! Circlets, belts, straps, trim, etc! Booth 123 on Plunder Lane!

I don't talk much about my personal life here. I assume you want all weaving all the time. I will say I haven't posted yet this Pennsic because my family experienced a tragedy. I'm safe and happy to be at Pennsic, but things are going to be very hard when I get back, and will be for a long time. I will especially appreciate any sales and Shares and word of mouth this Pennsic. It makes me so happy to see my weaving on people. On your garb, incorporated into your own bags and other items, in your hair, as your belts, on your kids and pets, etc. If you've been considering buying a piece that I have out at the shop, now is the time, please do.
I will be taking commissions this year, but I can't make any guesses regarding timeline and I have a queue. So if you want a piece that's already woven, go for it now.

Enjoy the War and this amazing weather!

My take on roman drop earrings (first picture) and my inspiration from the Met. Real freshwater pearls, but the findings and wire are brass. The original is of course gold.
