When I was 9 years old, my dad passed away, leaving my mom, my two younger sisters, and me to navigate a new reality. The Christmas before he died, he spent in a hospital bed in our living room. The Christmas that followed was just as difficult—if not harder.
I remember looking at our dark house during the holiday season and wondering, Will life ever feel the same again?
Fast forward to three years ago. Someone reached out to NoVA Light Pros about a middle school girl who had recently lost her father. We decided to provide a complimentary holiday lighting display for her family. What we didn't realize until afterward was that we had completed the installation on the one-year anniversary of his passing.
It felt like more than a coincidence.
That experience became one of the most meaningful moments of my career. Since then, we've quietly helped families and organizations who could use a little extra light during the holiday season. Over time, it became clear that this effort deserved something bigger.
Today, we're excited to announce that it's official:
❤️ Holiday Hearts is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our mission is simple: to bring joy, hope, and a sense of celebration to those facing hardship during the holiday season. Through community partnerships, volunteers, and donations, we'll provide holiday lighting, interior decorating, gifts, seasonal events, and other programs designed to make the season a little brighter for those who need it most.
