Gainesville Reads is back for its 3rd year, and this time we’re celebrating THE SERVICEBERRY by Robin Wall Kimmerer

We’re excited to kick things off with Working Food at Giving Garden — A Working Food Farm on October 2nd, from 6-7:30 pm!

The evening will open with a welcome from Lauren Groff, offer 10% off copies of THE SERVICEBERRY, and feature Seed Stories from Melissa DeSa; plus, rotate through interactive stations led by the Working Food team to begin our month in awe of the abundance and generosity of the natural world and the care in our own backyards.

On this New Release Tuesday, we are so excited to be a part of introducing FALLOW into the world.

Join us tonight at The Lynx from 6-7 p.m. for the launch of Sarah Anderson's debut novel, FALLOW, longlisted for the First Novel prize, short listed for the Air Mail Tom Wolfe Literary Prizes for Fiction, and a pick. We've got some surprises up our sleeves - join us in celebrating the brilliant writer, wonderful human, and friend of the store Sarah Anderson tonight.

Each year, The Lynx Watch, the nonprofit branch of The Lynx, chooses a central text to unite the community for a month of learning, growing, and conversation. Join us for a month of learning and growing, culminating with a visit from the renowned Indigenous author and scholar Robin Wall Kimmerer.

Our Gainesville Reads 2026 pick is (drumroll please): THE SERVICEBERRY by Robin Wall Kimmerer!

Each year, our nonprofit The Lynx Watch, Inc. selects a book to read from, learn from, and celebrate together as a community.

Join Lauren Groff and The Lynx team in celebrating lessons from The Serviceberry, learning about the generosity and care of the natural world with a month of activities highlighting local partners, all culminating in a keynote visit from Robin Wall Kimmerer herself.
