After all this rain, your lawn is probably looking a little out of control. Donโ€™t punish it for growing. ๐ŸŒฑ

In August, cutting an overgrown lawn too short all at once can create unnecessary stress - especially when the heat and humidity return.

Follow the 1/3 rule, keep it a little taller for now, and gradually work the mowing height back down over the next 2โ€“3 weeks.

All this rain gave our cool-season lawns a valuable resource. Good mowing practices now can help us carry that moisture, and a healthier lawn, into September.

Long is OK right now. Healthy is the goal.

Rainy morning, hot and humid afternoon. Spent today giving this mature landscape some attention. ๐ŸŒฟโœ‚๏ธ

The ornamental tree needed deadwood removed, crossed branches corrected, and the canopy cleaned up. The mature boxwoods just needed careful trimming to tighten up their shape without losing the form theyโ€™ve developed over the years.

Nothing dramatic - just thoughtful maintenance and attention to the details.

Another beautiful Galesburg property looking a little sharper. ๐Ÿก

Back at this beautiful Galesburg Tudor today, this time cleaning up the other side of the front entrance. Four yews shaped up and looking sharp again.
