Dave's Collector's Cave

Dave's Collector's Cave Welcome to Dave's Collectors Cave! Not a brick and mortar. Ask me anything! I love cool stuff, and have acquired a lot of it. Pretty basic stuff.

I have vinyl, vintage clothes, toys and pop culture collectibles on eBay, Discogs and the Galveston Island Market. So I sell the cool stuff I don't have room for or want anymore so other people can enjoy the cool stuff themselves.

THE BEST SCENE FROM FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH (1982)

We’ve all seen Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), and let’s be honest... there’s one scene that’s heads and tails above the rest.

Phoebe Cates emerges from the pool in a red bikini in a dream sequence.

But then something happens... and you’re reminded what a bad boy you really are.

If you know, you know.

I’ve been a fan of The Larry Sanders Show since it first aired, and I’ve probably watched every episode at least twice over the years. I hadn’t gone back to it in a long time, but watching it again reminded me of something I never really appreciated before.

This clip comes from Season 6, Episode 1: ā€œAnother List,ā€ which originally aired on HBO on March 15, 1998. It features Winona Ryder, Jon Stewart, and Smash Mouth, and it’s one of those episodes that instantly transports you back to the late ’90s. (Rotten Tomatoes)

The more I watch this series, the more I think it may be the greatest television time capsule of the 1990s. So many actors, musicians, comedians, and personalities pass through this show. Some are no longer with us, and seeing them all together again is a reminder of just how special that era really was.

That’s why I made this clip. Not just because it’s funny, but because it captures a moment in time that we’ll never get back.

If you grew up in the ā€˜90s, or you just appreciate brilliant writing and unforgettable guest appearances, do yourself a favor and watch The Larry Sanders Show. I honestly don’t know if another series captures the spirit of the decade any better.

RIP Garry Shandling. Thanks for leaving us one of television’s greatest hidden treasures.

THE BEST SCENE FROM CROCODILE DUNDEE (1986)

We’ve all seen Crocodile Dundee (1986), and let’s be honest… there’s one scene that’s heads and tails above the rest.

Linda Kozlowski heads out into the Australian outback for a refreshing dip while Mick Dundee watches from a respectful distance.

But then something happens… and you’re reminded what a bad boy you really are. šŸ˜

If you know, you know.

This is kind of more for me than for anyone else and it's just kind of a blog post. Long read as usual.

I'm one of those guys that collects things. I just love pop culture memorabilia across the board: music. movies, TV, art, clothes, toys, video game systems, comic books, and so so so much more. I wouldn't call myself a hoarder because the things I have have value and are unique. But it's become unwieldy.

I have things I've had since I was a child, and I've inherited things, and I've purchased things, so many things. I was into card collecting for a while. I have T-shirts galore. Dating back to the 90's in some cases. I've had a longtime love of collecting pins and buttons. I have magazines, books, and sooo many action figures. I have action figures from the 90's that I opened and displayed and have no idea what they are worth now.

I looked through some of my comic book collection, and the one I inherited from my brother, and if I can find the right buyers, they are worth thousands. I know I have things to uncover that are worth more. I just have so much pop culture stuff.

I've realized some things these past few years. Maybe it's taking me too long to get here, but I want to lighten this load. I need to get rid of this stuff while getting as much money as possible for all of it. I'm now the youngest old man I will ever be. I don't see me wanting to deal with all of this in ten years from now.

SO... I have brought Dave's Collectors Cave to the Galveston Island Market and it has been spectacular. Thank you Jennifer!

AND... Dave's Collectors Cave is now also at Sea Hag Vintage!

Look at how long this got and now I'm in need of sleep

Happy Star Wars Day to you all! May the Fourth be with you!
