Finding one Civil War soldier’s belt buckle was amazing enough… but finding a second one a year later still has Paul L. shaking his head in disbelief!

Both were found right here in Kansas. One came from Tonganoxie, and the other from Oskaloosa. He has been metal detecting for about a year and a half, and the only two belt buckles he has ever found are identical Civil War soldiers’ buckles.

He writes, “One looks like it had been underground for well over 100 years, while the other may have only been buried for around 20. Either way, both are incredible pieces of history and two finds I will never forget. Thanks, Garrett!”

Joko S brought his Garrett AT Max to South Sulawesi, Indonesia, to continue exploring the site of a former Imperial Japanese Army camp from World War II. This area, once part of the Pacific Front, has become almost forgotten and nearly lost to historical records. For the past four years, he has been researching and observing the landscape to locate these hidden camp sites.

With the support of the Garrett AT Max, he uncovered an incredible and rare relic: a Japanese Army dog tag from World War II!

He writes, “This type of dog tag is very difficult to find, as many were hidden or destroyed near the end of the war to prevent Allied forces from tracking Japanese units. In 1945, the Japanese Army’s 2nd Area Base, under Lieutenant General Fusataro Teshima, was located on South Sulawesi, with its area of responsibility extending as far as New Guinea. After Japan’s surrender in August 1945, several locations within the base area were used as POW camps for Japanese internees before their repatriation to Japan through 1946. Many of these camp locations have since disappeared from memory and records. But with research, persistence, and the Garrett AT Max, buried evidence is helping bring this forgotten history back to light.”

Banana Peel Toss Leads to Roadside Ring Recovery🍌💍

Xavier, aka Sub Detection on YT, received a phone call from a woman asking for help after she lost her 23-gram white gold diamond ring. While her husband was driving, he asked her to toss a banana peel out the car window. By accident, her ring went out with it. They searched everywhere but could not find it, so he came out with his VX9 to help. After about 30 minutes of searching, he got the signal we were hoping for and found the ring!

He said, “Being able to return it to its owner was the real treasure. Moments like this are exactly why I love this hobby.”

Found his OLDEST Coin🤯🙌

Rio is a lifelong Garrett user who has been finding treasures with his dad since he was introduced to metal detecting. On this day, he was using his AT Max when he found not only his oldest coin, but also, he found his first half-cut hammered coin! He was detecting in an old spot and found a Henry II Short Cross cut half hammered silver coin dating back to 1154-1189 A.D.

What a find, Rio!
