Thank you for the incredible support today! ❤️

I have restocked the stand for any last-minute Father's Day shoppers because we were practically sold out by the time we got home!

Y'all never cease to amaze me. Every purchase, kind word, and visit means more than you know, and we're so grateful for this community.

We're still learning the new routine with the porch stand, and so are the dogs. 😂 Thank you for your patience while everyone adjusts. Hopefully they'll soon realize porch visitors aren't a five-alarm emergency.

One quick reminder: If you're using the QR code for payment, please wait for the payment confirmation screen before leaving. We provide free Wi-Fi to make checkout easier, especially for those with limited cell service or Spectrum Mobile customers who may not have a strong signal at our house.

The honor system only works because of amazing people like you, and we appreciate every one of you. Thank you for helping us make this possible. ❤️

Happy Father's Day!

A little peek at what's coming... ❤️

As many of you know, Makers is getting ready for a new chapter, and I have to admit—I’m already excited.

The more I work on it, the more I realize this feels like getting back to what Makers was always supposed to be.

Not a big store. Not a complicated operation.

Just a little community stand with fresh bread, baked goods, produce, eggs, and neighbors.

I've already started turning part of the front porch into the new home of Makers, and I find myself getting more excited every day. The antique hutch is in place, the rocking chair has found its spot, and I'm already thinking about flowers, seasonal decorations, and all the little touches that make a place feel welcoming.

One of the things I’m looking forward to most is creating a space where people can slow down for a minute. Instead of standing around a shed, maybe we can sit in a rocking chair, catch up for a few minutes, and enjoy being neighbors.

At the end of the day, Makers has never really been about bread, cinnamon rolls, eggs, or produce.

It’s always been about community.

I can't wait to share the next chapter with all of you. ❤️

🐾 Meet Máire 🐾

As Makers Market moves to the front porch, it's time to introduce the final member of our security team.

This is Máire (pronounced Mar-ra).

Her name is Irish and means "always wanted child," which is fitting because she came to us in August 2024 as a birthday present for my husband—the man who never tells me no. It was finally time he got something he had always wanted.

Today, Máire weighs in at just under 170 pounds and has fully embraced her role as the largest goofball on the property.

When we're not home, she enjoys redecorating. She's been known to rearrange furniture, move things she shouldn't, and has even knocked over the couch once or twice. Nothing in this house is truly where you left it until Máire has approved the layout.

If you stop by Makers Market, there's a good chance you'll hear her before you see her. Her bark sounds much scarier than she actually is, and she may very well be staring at you through the window wondering what you're doing here.

Please don't let that fool you.

This is the same dog that wouldn't hurt one of my month-old Speckled Zombie chicks. Despite her size, she's about as gentle as they come.

Around here she's often called "Donkey." Partly because she has the strength of one and has accidentally knocked me over more than once, and partly because my husband desperately wants an actual donkey. I suspect this is his way of making sure I never forget.

At the end of the day, Máire is exactly what she looks like once you get to know her—a giant, spotted lap dog who doesn't realize she's bigger than most of the furniture and loves her family with her whole heart. ❤️🐾

By request...

First attempt at French macarons!

Definitely still learning, but the chocolate ones developed feet, held together, and most importantly... taste amazing.

Today's lessons:
• Macarons are picky.
• Piping is not my favorite activity.
• Almond flour is expensive.
• The second batch is always better than the first.

Next up: strawberry and pistachio.

Would you try them?

🐾 Meet Nadzeija 🐾

As Makers Market moves to the front porch, we thought it was time to introduce another member of our security team.

This is Nadzeija.

She's 4 years old and came into my life during one of the hardest seasons I've ever faced. After losing my mom, I was back in Nevada trying to figure out what life looked like without her. One day while doom scrolling Facebook, I came across a post about a pregnant German Shepherd sitting in a kill shelter in Sacramento, California. Because she was pregnant, no one wanted to adopt her, and her time was running out.

We lived about four hours away, but I reached out and told them that if they could arrange transportation, I would take her. I worked with a local pup rescue in Reno to make it happen and help find homes for the mama and the puppies that would be arriving soon. Four days later, her mom arrived at our house and avoided something no dog should ever face.

On Thanksgiving night 2021, she gave birth to nine puppies.

From the moment this little fur-ball arrived, I was smitten. Maybe it was because I helped bring her into the world by opening her sac and cleaning her up. Maybe it was because I needed a little hope myself.

Either way, I named her Nadzeija, which is Polish for "Hope."

And that is exactly what she has been ever since.

If you stop by Makers Market, you'll probably hear her announce your arrival with a classic German Shepherd bark. Don't take it personally—she's really just letting me know someone is here and wondering why you didn't bring treats.

She's never met a snack she didn't like. Dog cookies, cucumbers, vegetables, fruit... if it's edible, Nadzeija is willing to give it a try.

More than anything, she's my constant companion, always nearby, always watching, and always reminding me that sometimes hope shows up when you least expect it. ❤️🐾

🐾 Meet Maggie 🐾

Since Makers Market is moving to the front porch, we figured it was time to introduce a few members of our security team. 😄

This is Maggie.

She's a 4 years old English Bulldog and came into our family in a pretty unexpected way after showing up at my store in Nevada. Somehow she ended up making her way all the way to South Carolina, where she now spends most of her time perfecting the art of napping.

When Maggie sleeps, she dreams she's a motorcycle and snores accordingly. If you wake her up, she'll gladly let you know exactly how she feels about Mondays... or Tuesdays... or really any day that interrupts her beauty sleep. The tongue hanging out is usually your first clue.

If you stop by Makers Market, you may hear her before you see her. Maggie doesn't bark so much as make noises that sound suspiciously like Chewbacca having a conversation.

Despite the dramatic sound effects, her biggest concern in life is finding the next comfortable place to nap.

Around here, she's less of a guard dog and more of a professional nap supervisor. ❤️🐾

Big news from Makers!

We're excited to share that Makers has signed a lease for a permanent location at the South Carolina State Farmers Market, located at 3483 Charleston Hwy, West Columbia.

This opportunity allows us to continue growing while reaching new customers and bringing more of our products to the community. Because of this exciting next step, we've made the decision to retire our roadside market.

The roadside market helped us grow from a simple idea into something much bigger, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who stopped by, trusted the honor system, and supported our family along the way.

Don't worry—Makers isn't going anywhere! You'll still be able to order online at makerssc.com and schedule convenient porch pickup here in Gaston. You'll also continue to find us at local events and our retail partners.

We're especially excited because this opportunity isn't just for Makers. On Saturdays, Zombie Nutz will be joining us at the market as well, giving Little Man and his Dad the chance to continue growing their boiled peanut business, build their customer base, and let Little Man learn firsthand what it takes to run a small business. Watching him gain confidence and support from our community has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

Thank you for supporting local. Thank you for supporting Makers. And thank you for encouraging a young entrepreneur's dream through Zombie Nutz.

We wouldn't be here without you, and we're excited to see what this next chapter brings.
