Attention Laurelwood Residents!
After Hearing information on development proposal:
The hearing was held on Monday, 7/13, and there was great testimony and a lot of questions about how the developer was going to execute their plan. The two biggest ways for you to help right now are to donate and submit comments within 7 days of the 7/13 hearing.

The road will cross wetlands, not just bottom land, and this creates problems for wildlife, construction, road integrity, and more
The roads are planned to be gravel and are set at a steep slope, which create concerns for flooding, erosion, and safety - especially when the purchasers of the lots would have to ship in water.
There is no certainty around a second exit. Tess hasn't demonstrated access to Nelson Dr. If they had access for a secondary route, then why aren't they using it as their primary route and instead building a whole new road? And they do not have access to Academy Way. This creates major safety concerns.
The only way that's been proven "feasible" for water to get to these homes is by trucking it in. The wells are running dry and LA Water Co-op does not have infrastructure to reach the homes. Water tanks will have a huge burden on local roads and the proposed gravel roads would be worn down.
The plan to approve this proposal and then work through a process without public notice and comment would effectively cut out meaningful public engagement on a topic that affects us greatly.
