Our hearts are heavy today. The world has lost Dolly Parton — Tennessee’s own shining light, the girl from the Smoky Mountains who carried our hills, our stories, and our hope all the way to the stars.
She sang the truth of hard times and big dreams, gave freely of her kindness, and reminded every one of us that love, grit, and a little rhinestone never go out of style.
We join the entire world in mourning this irreplaceable treasure of our mountains and our music. Rest easy, Dolly. Your Tennessee mountain home will never forget you.
