Update: I'm told the road work has started on the east end of our section of 171 where it meets up with Hwy 61. You can still get through to us coming up the hill from G**s Mills. (Pictured below: agatized coral. I havent played with this piece under the black light yet, but I'm guessing its got some great fluorescence...not to mention it just being a really cool matched pair specimen.)

Julia with Curios and Notions is set up here until 4pm with fabric activities and her handcrafted flower presses. We've also got our beading table set up today!

Road closed? Not yet... When you drive out this way you'll notice the construction crews are preparing to get busy on Hwy 171 and they've already marked our road closed. They haven't begun work yet on our little section of 171 and from what I've read, the road will remain open with at least one lane for the length of the project, with the exception of any culvert replacements. I'll keep you posted when it gets messy around here, but in the meantime, to the best of my knowledge, there's smooth sailing 😉

The apple blossoms are in bloom and the G**s Mills Spring Festival is this Friday and Saturday. Weather permitting we will have some extra out door activities on Saturday afternoon: we will have a kids-bead-a-bracelet table set up (we provide a mix of stone, glass, plastic and wooden beads $1.00 for kids to create a bracelet, other pricing applies for adults, necklaces, etc.). We are also hosting Julia from Curios and Notions. She will be providing fabric collage activities from 1-4pm. If the weather is too windy or rainy to be set up outside, these activities will be canceled.

It's beginning to be blossoming beautiful on orchard ridge up by the shop. We're open 10:30-4:30 Tuesdays through Saturdays. (I took this photo on my drive past Fleming Orchard tonight 😉)

Well-defined pennsylvanian period fern fossils from Mazon Creek, Il. Now open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10:30am - 4:30pm at Gifted Earth, 48099 State Hwy 171, on orchard ridge above the village of G**s Mills.

Hey Peeps, if you stop by during our open hours and we aren't in the shop, please ring the shop doorbell a couple times and be patient. We have a lot of spring cleanup that I'm tackling on the property and we may be several hundred feet away from the shop. As soon as I'm aware of a customer, I come running and definitely want to visit with you. So take a few minutes to meditate or relax while I put the tools away and walk back over. Thanks!!

Magnetic Hematite "zippers" are a fun addition to easter baskets (for children 8 and older). Throw them up and listen to them "zzzzzip" together as they fall.

Just in...some fun new chunky beads. Also some delicate but delightful labradorite and moonstone mixed strands. Its been awhile since I've found high quality labradorite chips like these. Beads shown: tiger eye and picture jasper and dzi agate barrels, raw iolite and topaz (with rutilate), ocean jasper coins, and labradorite moonstone mixed chipstrands.
