To all of our customers and friends,
We are full of mixed emotions ranging from excitement to sadness, as we announce that Whistle-Stop Rare Books will be closing its brick and mortar shop in Genesee Depot, WI. After much thought and reflection, many different puzzle pieces went into making this decision. Though it is bittersweet, we've decided to bring this chapter to a close and embark on a new and very exciting journey.
Starting a small business when the world shut down in 2020 came with many challenges. However, we persevered and grew our bookshop into more than a store. It became a piece of us and we are extremely grateful to have crossed paths with every single person that popped their head in, chatted with us, and got lost in our books. So much of our energy and heart went into our bookshop, so this decision was not made lightly... but it comes from a deep desire to focus on what we are passionate about along with books — our family and the time freedom to enjoy them and life to the fullest.
Though we need to take pause while we close this chapter (and take a breath after), this is not an end to Whistle-Stop Books or Rare Vision Books. We having some exciting plans for popups and events, and different ideas for our bookshop - so stay tuned!
Of course, as we restructure, we will still be offering our rare books online at both https://rarevisionbooks.com and https://whistlestoprarebooks.com (our ebay stores).
As you all know how packed our shop is, HUGE sales are starting this week. Watch this page! We're still (and will continue to bring in books from our storage unit inventory (that has never been on the shelves) as things clear out.
