History of Janie Marie's Greenhouse:
Janie Marie’s Greenhouse evolved from what originally began as Valley Veggies in 1987 selling organic produce off the farmstead. This then turned into an extensive dried flower production with trickle irrigation and many perennial plantings. Many varieties of flowers were grown and dried and then marketed through Minnesota Everlastings Coop which went out of business in 1998. Seedlings for transplants were already being grown for other flower growers at this time and people would be stopping by for extra bedding plants anyway so a bedding plant business seemed the logical progression and Janie Marie’s began. Annual flower and vegetable bedding plants are sold and also many perennial plants that are dug from the gardens. Many of the perennial plantings from the dried flower days are still growing with 5-50 foot rows of peonies blooming mid-June.
