🍂💊 ASK THE PHARMACIST: Is your medicine cabinet ready for fall?
Before the sniffles, coughs, allergies, and “I don’t feel good” phone calls start rolling in, take a few minutes to give your medicine cabinet a fall refresh!
Here’s what we recommend checking:
🌡️ A working thermometer
Make sure it works and that you know where it is when you need it.
💊 Pain & fever relief
Have an appropriate option on hand for the adults and children in your family—and check those expiration dates!
🤧 Allergy & cold relief
Fall allergies can bring congestion, sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny noses. Make sure you have the products that work best for your family.
🩹 A well-stocked first-aid kit
Bandages, antibiotic ointment, gauze, antiseptic wipes, tweezers, and whatever other basics your household uses.
💧 Hydration essentials
Electrolyte drinks or oral rehydration solutions can be helpful when illness makes it difficult to stay hydrated.
🧴 Skin & wound care
Don’t forget things like hydrocortisone cream, anti-itch products, burn care, and your everyday skin-care essentials.
💊 Prescription medications
Check your refills before you run out. Fall is a great time to make sure everyone’s prescriptions are current and you have enough on hand.
🗑️ A plan for expired medications
Don’t keep a drawer full of medications you no longer need. Ask us about safe medication disposal options!
🔎 And finally…check those labels!
Look for expired products, medications that have changed, and duplicate ingredients in combination cold medicines.
Not sure what you should have in YOUR medicine cabinet? Just ask your pharmacist! We’re happy to help you choose what makes sense for your family.
🍁 A little preparation now can save you a late-night trip to the store later!
