Happy Mother’s Day! We had a big surprise last night when we checked on our rehab opossum, Miss Violet. Apparently, despite a pouch check under sedation at the vet in February with no signs of babies, she has indeed had a passel of opossums right under our noses. Violet was moved into the prerelease enclosure over a month ago. Apparently, she was smuggling contraband. 😂There are at least five beautiful, healthy babies. Sweet Violet and all her little ones will be released on a nature preserve when they are big enough. 💜💜
