Cattail & Cocktails March 21
Six Mile Retrievers will be demonstrating the ability to train a dog from basic obedience to a polished gun dog.
Josh Wall is a veteran trainer with over 200+ dogs under his belt. He has trained champions from multiple regions and specializes in Labrador Retrievers and Boykin Spaniels, which is the South Carolina State Dog.

The Palmetto Patriot by Thomas W. Lee is a historical fiction novel set during the American Revolutionary War, focusing on the British "Southern Strategy" in South Carolina. The story follows a fictional aide, Samuel Huger, as he observes real historical figures like Alexander Hamilton, Marquis de Lafayette, John Laurens, and Francis Marion ("The Swamp Fox"). The book blends accurate historical events with fictional characters to explore the successes and failures of the war in the South.

The Georgetown County Museum is proud to offer more artwork from artist Andy Riley. In addition to his reprint of his 1975 Georgetown County, A Historical view of The American Revolution map and his Francis Marion colonial brick series, Andy has his new painting called "First Flight Morning Light Sandelings" available and on display in our Rice Trunk shop.
Here is his inspiration for this painting:
In October 1954 hurricane Hazel hit Pawleys Island and local artist Andy Riley reflects back to when he was 6 years old watching engineers put in groins to try to contain the impact of future hurricanes and erosion. He was intrigued and attracted to these new structures and the waves and wildlife that gathered around them , often fishing atop the groins. Today there are very few of these structures left on the island. Andy does a wonderful job capturing his memory of this special time and era on Pawleys Island.
