SLE - Lupus is another recent diagnosis and it is triggered by many different things - however excessive heat is a main trigger.

This time last year we went without air conditioning for 8 weeks. 8 WEEKS in June and July … it was during this time of it being 95 degrees + (in the building we were recently in) that my heart issues were triggered with tachybradycardia and lupus/MCTD symptoms began to flare like crazy.

If you or someone you love is dealing with these issues of tachybradycardia, Lupus, and/or MIXED CONNECTIVE TISSUE DISEASE (MCTD) - pay attention to the heat levels for/with them. This is not something that needs to be ignored.

Hopefully this information can help you or someone you love who is struggling with any of these issues or other issues.

I’ve been holding this close to my heart for a while, but I feel led to gently share something personal. Not too long ago I was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) — a rare autoimmune condition that affects my joints, muscles, skin, and more. I have been dealing with this since 2013, but have recently received a confirmed diagnosis.

It’s a complex illness, and every day can feel a little different. Some days are harder than others, but I’m learning to listen to my body more, rest when needed, and give myself grace.

MCTD combines features of multiple autoimmune diseases (like lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis), which can make it unpredictable. There’s no cure, but with care and lifestyle adjustments, it’s manageable.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy but for awareness, understanding, and transparency. If I move a little slower, miss a few things, or need space—it’s not personal. It’s just me protecting my peace and preserving my energy.
