Kenny & Jen Burton are raising their kids right.

They’re teaching them that hard work pays off, and that when you do it together as a family, it means even more.

There’s a reason I’m always sharing what the Burtons are doing. I believe in them. I believe in what they’re building, but even more than that, I believe in what they’re teaching their children while they build it.

Generations came before them, working hard, raising families and helping shape this community. Now it’s Kenny & Jen’s turn to build something of their own, together, with their kids right there watching and learning alongside them.

Their children are growing up seeing what it means to work hard, take a chance, build something from the ground up, support the people around you and be proud of where you come from.

Because one day, it’ll be their turn.

And maybe they’ll choose to build something of their own right here too.

That’s how you keep a community alive. You give the next generation roots worth staying for, and you teach them they’re capable of growing something of their own 🌿🤍

Everyone even people my age keep telling me to move over to Instagram.

Funny part is, Carson turned 20 today and asked me how to work Facebook. Facebook is older than she is. Everyone reading this who remembers when Facebook started, congratulations, you’re old too.

I love to shout out anyone who wants to spend part of their birthday with us, especially when they’ve been one of our biggest supporters from the beginning 🤍

Good Morning ☕️

I think I’ve missed two morning posts all summer. I’m not going back to check. Lorna will know. She makes the delicious marshmallows and somehow also serves as our fact-checking department. If I get something wrong, I’ll hear about it later. Another job that was never assigned.

The best part is, no one asked me to do this either. Yet every morning I report to Facebook like there are consequences for missing a shift at a job that doesn’t exist.

She’s alive. Caffeine pending. Still despises the heat. Soon I’ll be freezing and you’ll hear about that too.

The absurdity of this still kills me. I don’t know what this is. I just know I keep showing up and apparently so do you.

So thank you for showing up for our makers, supporting what they do, and somehow deciding all this nonsense was worth sticking around for too 😂

Have a great day, friends. Find the funny, look for the good, and don’t get so busy getting through life that you forget to actually live it 🤍

14 days, people. FOURTEEN.

The teachers are on their way back to their natural habitat, preparing to put up with our children for the next nine months.

So the real question is…..do you have a little something for your teacher yet? Because personally, I feel like “thank you for taking it from here” deserves a gift😂

Fall is in full leaf drop at the Market and I’m getting way too excited about it 🍂

I cannot wait for Green Mountain Wicks to restock. You guys have been asking for Glen Arm, Global Market, Lavender Sage, and Ann-Marie and Owen are bringing in a whole bunch of additional fall scents too.

The funniest part is I didn’t even like candles before this. Or marshmallows for that matter😂

Apparently you put me in a tiny building with a bunch of ridiculously talented people and I become a changed woman. Clearly I’m obsessed because it’s all I talk about.

Come in and ask me about something. I can tell you what’s in it, how it’s made, who made it and why they do it. I’ve learned so much about everyone’s craft because I truly believe in what every single one of them are making. I don’t just want their stuff sitting on a shelf. I want to know the people and the products behind it so I can tell you why I believe in it too. And if I don’t know something offhand, I have a direct line to the person who does…the one who actually made it.

Last thought, Nancy’s Paint Night on 8/20 is officially FULL. Thank you to everyone joining us for our first little gathering. We really cannot wait to see how this pans out.

Between the people hosting and the people joining, I can guarantee one thing…

There will be stories 😂🤍
