Sometimes I stop and think about where this Stampin’ Up! journey has taken me, and I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful.
Yes, I love the stamps. I love the paper, the colors, the new catalogs, and the excitement of creating something beautiful with my own two hands. But if I’m being completely honest, those things aren’t what have kept me here. It’s the people!
I have made more friends through Stampin’ Up! than I ever would have made on my own. Women I never would have met otherwise have walked through my door, sat down at my craft table, made cards with me, laughed with me, shared pieces of their lives with me, and become people I genuinely care about. Some started as customers. Some became team members. Some simply came to make cards. But somewhere along the way, so many of them became friends. And that is something I never expected when I became a demonstrator.
Stampin’ Up! has given me opportunities to learn, grow, travel, teach, create and challenge myself. It has given me a reason to invite people into my home and say, “Come sit with me. You can do this.” It has allowed me to watch women who were convinced they weren’t creative make something beautiful and leave feeling proud of themselves.
But most of all, it has given me community.
Is everything always perfect? Of course not. Nothing in life is. But when I look at the whole of this journey and what being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator has brought into my life, the goodness far outweighs anything else.
I’m proud to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I’m thankful for the company, the opportunities it has given me, and especially for the people it has brought into my life.
I sometimes say that I’m “changing the world one handmade card at a time.” That may sound like a big statement for something as simple as paper, stamps and ink.
But I believe it. Because a handmade card says, “I thought about you.” A seat at the craft table says, “There’s a place for you here.” And a friendship that started because two people happened to love making cards? Well, that can change a life.
I know it has changed mine. And I wouldn’t trade this journey, or the friendships I’ve made along the way, for anything.
