This might just be my favorite appliance I have got in my store.
This reliable, tank of a dryer was made in November of 1967. For it's age, it's in great shape! After almost 55 years, the belt and tensioner finally failed, then it ended up in my hands.
I was torn on this because a dryer of this age, is not worth hardly anything. So as a business, it wouldn't make sense to put time and money into repairing it. The cost of a belt and tensioner is not bad, but would make me break even right away, not including my time on it, doing small repairs to the door, and also servicing the unit because it probably hasn't been done in many years. Just losing money, from a business standpoint with everything included.
I decided (lots of begging from the wife) to keep it alive! I won't make anything on it after all my time and money I put into it, but it feels good to see such a neat dryer staying alive, and hopefully survive many years to come when it gets a new home.
They truly don't make them like they did back then. I just wanted to share a cool dryer that I most likely won't see like it for a long time. Thanks for reading!
