Always look for the helpers, the ones who lift each other up. Especially small businesses that support other small businesses. Consider helping Sailor Oyster Bar staff as they rebuild after a fire that took their place of employment. Links to many of these will be in the comments.

If you follow local Maryland groups, you will inevitably run into the "best of ___" posts or recommendations that say this one company is far superior to the rest. And I am not knocking that.
The beauty of Maryland is how many options we do have. Even with businesses that do the exact same thing. And at the end of the day, whether you switch it up or stay true to a brand, you are supporting local businesses, which matters the most.
