Not So New Store Golconda, IL Not So New store is sponsored by the Pope Co., IL Historical Society. Store accepts donations and resells them to support the museum & help other groups.

The Not So New resale store is located on Main Street in Golconda, IL. The store's profits are used to support the Pope County Historical Society Museum in Golconda. We also assist local organizations and individuals. The store has been in operation for since 1966 but in several different locations in Golconda. The store accepts donations during store hours and volunteers oversee the sales of these items.

2026-2027 SCHOOL REGISTRATION IS COMING SOON!

Pope County Elementary/Jr. High School is excited to begin registration for the upcoming school year! We are looking forward to welcoming both returning and new students for another great year of learning, growth, and Pirate pride.

Returning Students
Online registration will open July 20th and close July 31st through Teacherease. We encourage families to complete registration as early as possible to ensure your student's enrollment information is up to date before the first day of school.

On July 27th from 12-5pm we will hold in-person online registration. If you need to use a computer or need assistance with process please stop by during these hours.

New Student Registration
We are now offering an online registration request process for new students! Families new to Pope County can use the registration link provided to begin the enrollment process. Once your request is submitted, school staff will contact you regarding required documents and next steps.

New students enrolling in an Illinois school for the first time will need:
• Birth Certificate
• Proof of Residency
• Current Physical Examination
• Vision Examination
• Up-to-Date Immunization Records
• Any applicable custody or guardianship paperwork
