A mountain wedding. A beautiful love story. And a table made for gathering. 🤎✨

Creating the cocktail-hour graze for Justine & Seth’s wedding was one of those events I couldn’t wait to bring to life.

Warm woods, layers upon layers, candlelight, earthy fall tones, overflowing charcuterie, artisan cheeses, fresh fruit, vegetables and all the little details that turned one table into an experience for their guests.

And tucked into the mountains of Estes Park? Absolute magic. 🏔️🤍

Thank you for trusting me with this little piece of your wedding day. Watching everything we talked about come together and then watching your guests gather around it was the BEST part.

Here’s to a lifetime of gathering around tables, making memories, laughing hard and loving each other well. 🥂

🌿🎀 Welcome to the Garden Gathering…

When the vision is “a beautiful garden, but make it edible.” 😍

Every detail of this table was intentionally designed—from the layered greenery, candlelight and soft blush touches to the individual berry baskets, garden veggie cups, chicken salad sandwiches and abundant charcuterie.

And the entire menu was gluten-free, with dairy-free options thoughtfully included. 🤍

Our host told me afterward that the photos were gorgeous, but seeing it in person did it so much more justice. 🥹

THAT is what I want every The Perfect Platter Colorado experience to feel like.

🌿 A Garden Gathering for the sweetest little bloom 🌿

Yesterday, The Perfect Platter Colorado had the absolute pleasure of creating this garden-inspired baby shower and I’m still smiling over how beautifully it all came together. 🎀

We wanted the table to feel like you had stepped into a little garden market with soft greenery, blush and sage details, baskets overflowing with fresh food, twinkle lights, candlelight and layers upon layers of texture.

The menu was entirely gluten-free, with dairy-free options thoughtfully included:

🌿 Artisan cheeses & charcuterie
🥪 Gluten-free & dairy-free chicken salad sandwiches
🥕 Individual garden veggie cups with hummus
🍓 Individual baskets of fresh berries

From the tiny gingham-lined berry baskets to the garden signs, florals, greenery and every last detail, this was one of those tables that was just as much fun to create as it was to serve.

And one of the best compliments of the day came from our wonderful host, who told me that while the photos were gorgeous, being there in person did it so much more justice. 🥹 That meant everything.

The guests loved it, the food was almost completely gone by the end of the afternoon, and we packed up the little bit that remained to be enjoyed later, which is exactly how I like an event to end. 🤍

Some events really do come full circle. 🤎

Yesterday, The Perfect Platter Colorado had the honor of creating this elevated cocktail-hour grazing experience for a beautiful mountain wedding in Estes Park and this one was a little extra special.

Just last year, the bride’s mama was my daughter’s kindergarten teacher. She loved on her, encouraged her, taught her, and took such wonderful care of my baby during that very first year of elementary school.

And yesterday, I got to take care of hers. 🥹🤎

Talk about a full-circle moment.

We created a layered, abundant grazing table filled with artisan cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruit, vegetables, olives, pickles and savory accompaniments, all styled with warm woods, greenery and candlelight to complement their gorgeous mountain celebration.

I love creating beautiful food and beautiful tables but moments like this remind me that The Perfect Platter Colorado has always been about so much more than food. It’s about people. It’s about connection. It’s about being invited into the moments people will remember for the rest of their lives.

There was something incredibly special about standing there yesterday, realizing that a mama who cared so beautifully for my little girl had now trusted me to play a small part in such an important day for hers. 🥹

Good food brings people together and sometimes, life brings people back together in the sweetest ways.

When the vision comes to life. 🤍🌿✨

This one was something special.

Twelve feet of grazing, layered with artisan charcuterie, fresh fruit, individual Caesar salads, deviled eggs, crudités, chicken salad croissants and crostini, all surrounded by soft sage textures, natural wood, white roses, greenery, candlelight and the most beautiful Colorado mountain backdrop.

And because Colorado in August likes to keep us humble… the skies OPENED just before the ceremony. 😂🌧️

We covered the entire table, stood guard in the rain, waited it out “we’re going down with this ship” was our motto and when the clouds finally moved through, we uncovered everything and watched this beautiful celebration come back to life. Thank you to CC Frick for all your hard work and dedication.

And THAT is event catering.

It isn’t just creating beautiful food. It’s designing the experience, anticipating the unexpected, protecting every detail and doing whatever it takes to make sure our clients never have to worry about what’s happening behind the scenes.

We were honored to be part of the Abbott wedding and create this cocktail-hour grazing experience for such a beautiful day. 🤍

A RAD LITTLE DUDE IS ON THE WAY! 🛹💙

This one was extra special for The Perfect Platter Colorado. 💙

We had the absolute joy of creating and styling this baby shower from beginning to end, bringing a playful skater-inspired theme to life with baby blues, black + white checkerboard, layered details, custom signage and a whole lot of personality.

And, of course, we brought the food. 😉

From our elevated grazing display filled with fresh fruit, crudités, deviled eggs, caprese skewers and charcuterie, to the beautifully styled desserts, beverage station and all the little details in between, every element was designed to feel cohesive with the celebration.

Because that’s what we love about events: the details matter.

The height of a platter. The greenery tucked between serving pieces. The candlelight. The signage. The way the food, décor and room all work together so that when guests walk in, it doesn’t simply feel catered—it feels like an experience.

And this particular little dude happens to be VERY close to our hearts. 💙 Baby Nash will make our owner Kristen Lewis Gustafson a first-time grandmother - Kiki! - so you better believe we poured a little extra love into this one. 🥹

Huge shoutout to CC Frick who is quite literally the other set of hands behind so many of our events and helped bring every last detail together. 💙

We loved every minute of this one.

💙 At The Perfect Platter Colorado, we’re passionate about more than creating beautiful food experiences—we’re passionate about building a stronger community.

Giving back has always been at the heart of who we are.

Our founder, Kristen Lewis Gustafson, has volunteered with A Precious Child for many years, serving on the Board of Advisors and continuing to dedicate her time to helping children and families across the Denver Metro area. It’s a cause that’s incredibly close to her heart.

Today, we’re asking our amazing clients, friends, and community to join us for our Fill a Backpack Challenge!

🎒 Our goal is to collect 100 backpacks by July 30 for local students who need a little extra support as they head back to school.

Every donation helps a child walk into their classroom feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
