💙 At The Perfect Platter Colorado, we’re passionate about more than creating beautiful food experiences—we’re passionate about building a stronger community.

Giving back has always been at the heart of who we are.

Our founder, Kristen Lewis Gustafson, has volunteered with A Precious Child for many years, serving on the Board of Advisors and continuing to dedicate her time to helping children and families across the Denver Metro area. It’s a cause that’s incredibly close to her heart.

Today, we’re asking our amazing clients, friends, and community to join us for our Fill a Backpack Challenge!

🎒 Our goal is to collect 100 backpacks by July 30 for local students who need a little extra support as they head back to school.

🌳📚 A Story You Could Taste 📚🌳

Last weekend, we had the incredible honor of creating a one-of-a-kind culinary experience for author Linda Ross and the launch of her beautiful novel, The Story Tree: Echoes From the Earth.

Rather than simply serving food, we wanted guests to journey through the pages of her book - one chapter and one bite at a time.

Each of the twelve stations represented a chapter from the novel and a different moment in history.

✨ We began with dried berries and nuts with whipped honey, representing ancient times and the simple, nourishing foods of our earliest ancestors.

✨ Guests then moved through dishes inspired by centuries of history; from succotash cups with turkey, to Moroccan-spiced hummus, savory hand pies, and mini biscuits with cinnamon streusel and honey butter, each carefully chosen to reflect the people, places, and periods represented within the story.

✨ Nostalgic bites like root beer float shooters and lemon drops, apple cookies, and tea sandwiches with strawberry rhubarb hand pies evoked memories of generations past.

✨ And we ended our culinary journey in the future with gourmet popcorn, a playful nod to the unknown adventures that still lie ahead.

Every detail was intentionally designed to honor the heart of The Story Tree.

🌿 The wooden crates, risers, and natural elements woven throughout the display symbolized the roots and branches of the tree itself representing how stories, memories, and generations remain connected through time.

📖 Custom chapter signs guided guests through the experience, transforming a catering display into an interactive, immersive journey.

Because at its heart, The Story Tree reminds us that every person, every memory, and every generation leaves its mark, just like the rings of a tree.

What an incredible honor it was to design and create this beautiful celebration for sweet Ella Laine and her family.

From the moment guests walked through the front door, every detail was thoughtfully curated to create an elevated and memorable experience - from the welcome display and florals, to the luxury grazing table, handcrafted desserts, infused waters, signature beverages and every little detail in between.

We recently had the honor of creating a full brunch-style catering experience for an intimate celebration here in Colorado — combining both food + styling to bring a cohesive, elevated vision to life.

all designed to feel abundant, intentional, and visually layered for guests to enjoy throughout the morning.
