Two weeks ago we held the first of many cultural gatherings for our community in Sydney Australia.

The Heart of the Earth Festival was a lively celebration of music, dance, community art and Indigenous crafts from Colombia and communities throughout South America.

We were honoured to showcase Kogi, Arhuaco and Mapuche art, alongside our collection of Wayuu weavings, and we were blessed with beautiful performances from Colombian, Peruvian, and Bolivian dancers.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated, shared their cultures, volunteered their time, donated towards our community raffle, and purchased our weavings.

ALL of the first release fique bags from the Native Fibres Collection were sold! We also raised more than 1500 for earthquake-impacted communities in Choco, Colombia 🇨🇴

This First Thursday in Santa Barbara we’ll be joined by natural dye artist Felise Gutierrez who will guide us through the ancient tradition of indigo dyeing 🌀

Guests will have the opportunity to dye their own clothing (your chance to upcycle that stained shirt you loved!) or buy a pair of SANA organic un**es and dye them for free!

Susus are restocked on our USA site for a limited time! 💫

These spacious bags take two to three weeks to weave and are traditionally used by Wayuu folks to carry chinchorros (large handwoven hammocks).

The Wayuu look to their dreams for guidance on what patterns to weave, what medicines to use, and how to keep their relatives safe. They believe in dreams as the most important source of information for maintaining community wellbeing.

In Western culture, dreams are largely dismissed as irrelevant to waking life. Meanwhile, Indigenous cultures around the world have been cultivating powerful relationships with the dream world for centuries. We all have this potential.

Thursday’s gathering is the first of a series of Dream Circles held at our shop in downtown Santa Barbara around the full moon 🌝 in partnership with renowned dream psychologist Dr. Barbara Bain, whose perspective and methodology is shaped by her Shasta-Kanaka California Indian lineage.

In light of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck western Colombia on Monday, we’ve decided to redirect 100% of the funds we receive from our community raffle at the Heart of the Earth Festival this Sunday to support emergency relief in Chocó and surrounding Indigenous communities.

Hey Santa Barbara! 👋🏽

Our friends at The SPACE are putting together a very special art exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara celebrating Indigenous art and Santa Barbara’s multicultural history.

The exhibit will be open to the public for 7 days from August 10th to 16th, 11am-2pm & 2pm-6pm every day.
