The Baton Rouge Police Department honors the memory of Lieutenant Michael Godawa who died from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty. He passed away on August 1, 2021.

Lieutenant Godawa had served with the Baton Rouge Police Department for 27 years.
