‼️ ENHANCED RISK (LEVEL 3 OF 5) SEVERE WEATHER THREAT TODAY 🌪️ for Strong Tornadoes, Very Large Hail 🧊 2”+, and Damaging Winds 💨 75+ mph
Scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley and Midwest, with the greatest concern from Minnesota and Wisconsin southward into Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.
➡️ PRIMARY THREATS ARE
🌪️ TORNADOES POSSIBLE (SOME STRONG): A few tornadoes could be strong (EF2+), especially with any sustained supercells this afternoon and evening
🧊 VERY LARGE HAIL POSSIBLE (2”+): Initial supercells may produce hail in excess of 2 inches in diameter
💨 DAMAGING WINDS POSSIBLE (75+ MPH): Storms may organize into clusters and lines capable of producing damaging wind gusts

• Afternoon: Severe storms develop across portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri
• Late Afternoon – Evening: Supercells capable of very large hail and strong tornadoes become possible
• Evening – Night: Storms may grow into larger clusters with an increasing damaging wind threat
• Overnight: Additional rounds of severe storms remain possible with large hail and damaging winds
