Friends - As some of you know, last November, I was seriously injured after being hit by a car while walking through a crosswalk in Charlottesville. Over the past 10 months, I’ve been undergoing treatment for multiple acute injuries as a result of the accident, including a concussion and permanent hearing loss.

After stepping back from all work obligations for a short time during my initial recovery, I re-engaged and worked hard to fulfill my event commitments for Gordonsville and various other consulting clients. But my return to work has been difficult at times and has come at a cost. My doctors have now advised me to step back from all event-related work to focus entirely on healing.

Accordingly, the Spring Crafts Market and the July 4th Parade and Fireworks will be led by Anna Pillow from the Visitor’s Center.

Gordonsville holds a special place in my heart, and this decision was not easy to make. I have complete confidence in Anna and the Town as they carry these events forward. And I look forward to returning to my prior level of activity as soon as possible.

I am forever grateful for your support of these events, as well as to our sponsors who have made it possible over the last four years, along with my friends and colleagues who have carried me through this time. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of creating new opportunities to showcase our beloved town.

And don’t worry, you can still find Eloise and me at 203 South Main Street.
